Just as we thank and remember the brave service of those serving in the armed forces, we should also be thanking those doctors, nurses, PAs, nurse practitioners, therapists, and orderlies and other vital support staff working in these hospitals, who are working so hard, and risking their lives, to try to save those who are suffering from COVID-19. It’s often a futile fight, and in this broadcast, I see yet another dedicated staff person showing signs of PTSD, as they often feel hopeless in being unable to save every patient. They too deserve our gratitude, and we ALL need to appreciate that.

The best way to do that is to start listening to the experts, wear masks in public, and do everything we can to ensure that we and our loved ones don’t become infected, and add to the crushing burden. And if some medical reason doesn’t allow you to wear a mask, then stay home! Unlike previous pandemics, we actually have the tools to get almost everything one needs delivered to our homes, thanks to the internet.

If you must go out, find some secluded section of a park, and enjoy a nice walk. I can think of no better way to thank those medical professionals than by following their advice.
