Glad I found this. I'm going to experiment first with Windows 10 on a micro sd before I even buy an externall SSD. I'm sort of addicted to rally games, and I can't run WRC generations on the steam deck using steam OS, so I just have to use windows for it.

i hear people saying negatives about battery drain on windows for steamdeck, or other random things. do you feel any negatives compared to steamOS? because im god damn tired of linux fanboys not acknowledging that many games wont work / are a headache to setup on steamOS

I’ve always had the same issue, I install Windows 10 or 11 (on SSD and using a 256gb Samsung Evo v2 sd card for games) and it works perfectly smooth for about some hours of gaming, then it starts to freeze and to make the experience unplayable in any game. I’ve experienced this way more than 5 times, idk what else to do. It happened to me with Fifa and Mw2, any help?

This is a great video so helpful. The only thing that didnt work was the dual boot fix - when i restart windows, it doesnt go to the boot screen, just straight back to SteamOS. Anyone aelse had this? Thanks
