nah i think it's because it just looks good to rip of and show his orange forged muscles to the viewers. if you notice that they showed multiple outfits of wolverine, it's maybe because our mind haven't seen him for a very long time, so the director thinks that it's a good way to warm up our brain in all of his visuals so he will be more flexible with our thoughts
