Lamprey have been caught trolling lures for pike, hooked squarely in the mouth. It's amazing that a creature too primitive to develop gills is still in our rivers.

Your underwater footage is an amazing resource because it shows fish being fish. Watching something thrash about in a net really doesn't do it justice. Even the lamprey has evolved an amazing life cycle with behaviors that are far more interesting than "This one took the green powerbait" type content provides. I hope a big part of your channel continually reminds us that all of these creatures are a fascinating part of nature.

I really enjoyed this video, I live half a mile from the mouth of the River Dee and it's nice to know the river has these fascinating creatures swimming in it sometimes! 👍

Great stuff!
I quite like the new videos where you go out trying to catch the fish with a rod. But I also don't mind if you just go out with the camera. I would say do what you feel like doing and what works with the targeted species. We enjoy the content anyway.
Cheers!

300M years. Wow. Stuff like that makes me feel better about dying, honestly. We're just passing by.
