A 300 million-year-old ray-finned fish fossil at the University of Michigan provides new information about early evolutionary history. CT scanning helped create a 3-d rendering of the skull, revealing the soft tissue brain and associated nerves inside, a rarity found in fossils. Comparing modern ray-finned fish to the fossil, they can further study what conditions were like early in the evolutionary history of ray-finned fish.

To call it the oldest is one thing; to call it evolution is another. It’s absolutely cringe to watch somebody say something they know nothing about but act as if they do.

Why the eff don't they show how that lump of coal looks anywhere like a god damned fish? If I saw that in a pile of coal I'd throw it in the smoker to light it up!
