How to Dual Boot Debian linux and Windows 11 ( EASY METHOD )

Dual Boot Debian linux and windows 11. Install Debian linux 2023 alongside windows 11. This video shows you how to install Debian linux 12 on windows 11. Using dual boot you can setup windows 11 or windows 10 and Debian linux 12 on the same drive.

Dual booting windows 11 and debian linux 2023 helps to use both operating systems at the same time. When you turn on your Pc it will ask you to boot in to window 11 or debian linux 2023.1. This way you can run both operating systems on the same computer hassle free. There may be no data loss you will encounter while using this method, although it’s always recommended to back up any important Data from windows 11 just to be on a safer side. IF something goes wrong, you can retrieve the data. Apart from that as long as you follow this guide, you will be able to successfully able to dual boot debian linux 12 and windows 11 on your PC or laptop.

For those who boot straight into windows you guys need to set kali first in the boot priority in the bios and grub will load so you can choose to boot into windows or linux

Thank you so much! I was scared I couldn't do it but in the end it all went perfect, except a little thing, after finishing the installation it didn't load in the grub loader but instead on windows. I managed to get it right by rebooting, entering bios and from the boot option there was a "<null string>", I assumed it could've been it and selected it. It was the grub loader and I got right into Debian! Really nice video!

Good and practical instructions. About Secure Boot being enable or disabled in Windows 11, here is an information I read from a Microsoft guy - "While Windows 11 does require a TPM, the "Secure Boot" requirement is that your hardware has to be capable of supporting Secure Boot. It can be disabled on Windows 11 PCs if you have TPM 2.0". Some sites say that disabling Secure Boot in Windows 11 may cause you to stop receiving windows updates, but I think it is just some guy guessing. You should also have mentioned that nvidia drivers is only to be installed for computers with a Nvidia graphics card. Mine is Intel not Nvidia.

I used balena etcher to install debian on an old PC I bought in 2012. I used a $6 usb 32 gb drive that I bought at Walmart. Since the PC was super old and couldn’t run Windows anymore I installed it as the only operating system. If I buy a new laptop I will probably come back to this video to set up a proper dual boot system.

I installed the nvidia drivers, but now after restart, my External monitor is not getting detected neither is it displaying anything. I'm using a gtx 1650ti. It was displaying on the monitor perfectly fine before installing the drivers

hi at 8:46, how come it is best to choose X11? Isn't X11 the older protocol compared to wayland? Did you have problems using wayland?

About the nvidia card... i have an intel KF processor, which means it doesn´t have an integrated graphics card. The Nvidia discrete (dedicated) GPU is the only graphics card in the system. Will Debian at recognize the GC even before installing the Nvidia kernel? Don´t want to install and boot into Debian just to find out i can´t see what i´m doing xD Thanks

Thank you for this great guide. If I want unstable version, should I install base system and then install unstable version, or can I do it without installing base? I know there is an ISO file that can be used, but it requires advanced installation and I'm not sure if it will work with other systems on different drives. Also, will it work if I add another system, such as Arch, on a separate drive(each system on it's own drive)? Thank you very much.

I can see the grub menu and boot into Debian, but windows 11 is not on the boot options list. Any suggestions? I tried os-prober but no results

I'm surprised it didn't ask where to put the grub bootloader as it used to. It assumed everything by itself like Ubuntu/Mint for example?
