I was going to mention the similarity in patterns in the rice with magnetic fields being manipulated. Holy crap. Music is more than just sounds. It's literally magic.

To be clear, with sound waves energizing a metal plate with rice or sand: You are seeing how the metal plate reacts, not the actual sound waves. The plate's length & thickness, density & mass, mounting or fixture method, etc., all play into what you see. Technically, you're seeing the effects of nodes & anti-nodes as waves reflect in the material.

I just noticed in the sound vibrating rice on the metal plates example the shape starts out as a single cell then as the frequency goes higher it starts to divide and form more cells. Truly interesting and may be connected to the whole idea that sound gives life.

Whenever I hear someone say that stories from the past have been passed down it reminds me of the game 'telephone'. A group of people sit next to each other in a circle and relay a sentence or couple sentences into the ear of the person to the right..at the end you'll get a good laugh because the last person given the story can't make heads or tails of it and it's nothing like the original message. I personally wouldn't accept a story told by someone that adds or omits details they decide on by themselves.
