My only tip for new players is to upgrade your characters first (lvl80 ascended, 6/6/6 talents minimum) before farming artifacts. Artifact farming has 5 layers of rng to it, it's more random than the gacha system
by 5 layers of rng i mean:
1. you have 50/50 chance of getting the right set
2. you have 5 pieces in each set (only need 4)
3. you need to get the right main stat on each piece
4. you need to get the right substats on each piece
5. you pray to fucking god it upgrades the substat you need

i only really started artifact grinding at AR54 and now im legit struggling to get good artifacts for my Ayaka, Keqing or Tartaglia

The opposite is true for me I’ve been 36 star abyss ever since I got xiao. He’s been a blessing on my account and I’m happy I ended up getting him 6 pull after I lost 50/50 on ganyu

I don't regret getting xiao at all, seeing that 45k dmg every plunge is so satisfying
My xiao has a blackliff polearm and has 2k attack, 72 cit rate and 210 cd, his talents are 10 8 9

what i regret most is that when i started playing i didnt summon for venti but instead i summoned for diluc and jean on standard(i had no clue that rate up was a lie back then) and i also regret summoning for klee since i didnt know any better
