A lot of my followers on TikTok have been asking for this so I made a tutorial on how I built a bola launcher. It’s still very much a work in progress tho but I decided to share where I’m at with it.

Thank you to @NutjobwithaMachete for suggesting this two in one projectile design!

Really cool! I think I would personally end up 3D printing this. If you do it that way, you could make the bottom of the projectile hollow and store the rope in there, so that when it comes apart the rope goes with it. I love the dual spring on the inside design - Forces the projectile apart while also keeping it compact. You might be able to achieve the same thing with two opposed magnets set in there, for more weight/aerodynamics. The rope is also probably a bit more heavy than you actually need - Microcord or kevlar cord would probably do a similar job and be thinner/lighter and more easily stored. Then you have all-inclusive bolts and no worries about packing the rope in for a reload - Just pop another one in and go for it!
I'll be following this closely as I love the idea.

Why not use compressed air from a bike pump instead of CO2? You could easily use a valve from an old bike tire to fill up an air tight chamber (flex seal/hot glue some caps either end of a pipe, drill hole through one cap for valve stem). Lots of youtubers have done this method to make DIY airguns.

Not enough weight just use 2 used C02 cartridges

For the rope to be loaded you might be able to use the inside of a tape measure to load it. Just an idea.
