20. You have Rent Arrears or are in debt

In this video, we will explain what steps you can take if you find yourself in rent arrears, or in debt while claiming Universal Credit.

There are options available to you if you are struggling financially, have rent arrears or are in debt. If you have only just applied for Universal Credit, then you can request an advance payment. See Video 19, Universal Credit advance payment, for more information.
