Bose SoundLink Max vs. Bose SoundLink Mini 2 SE. Sound test.

I created these series of videos to share and compare the sound quality of a variety of speakers. Out of the box, update if necessary, with no EQ and no other feature (like TruePlay by Sonos or similar).

I personally picked this four songs in order to appreciate different genres for those of you who really want to hear the quality of the speakers.

Some comparisons might not be on the same category (size, price, plugged smart speakers vs. portable bluetooth speakers, etc…), so don’t start complaining! It’s all about the sound!

To record the sound I used the Sennheiser Ambeo Headset which captures 3D Audio.

Please wear headphones for an optimal/much better result.

The digital peak meter represents which speaker is actually sounding - it is not meant as a real representation of the sound levels. Also, when a speaker is silent its name is greyed out.

Amazing. Even 10+ years later, the Mini is still the best bluetooth speaker. I wonder if it's because the Flex and Max are waterproof, that's why the Mini sounds more clear. Really wish BOSE would release a larger version of the Mini. Max is nice for out and about, but a more premium sound for the home (without the need for water proofing) would be nice.

The Soundlink Mini 2 sounds better to my ears. I prefer the clearer sound.

need to admit max has suprising soundstage and wider freqency response but mini is still incredible in terms of size, warmer sound and better looks. i own both this. SL max is different from other bose products in terms of the treble.
