Come on Harry Potter fans, let's be real, Ron and Hermione ending up together makes about as much sense as Neville being the real chosen one.

and talk about that scene where hermione jumped into harry’s tent to hug him when he was facing the dragons in the triwizards tournament. MY favorite scene. :3

Harry had way more chemistry and actual relationship development with Hermione and Luna than he did with Ginny. And Ron and Hermione had so little in common.

Agreed. Also doesn't help that the actress that play Ginny and the actor that played Harry had ZERO chemistry.

You finally hired someone who acts confident and cool instead of the whole "awkward" shtick

but hermione and harry had the most chemistry?? like seriously harry and hermione was an amazing ship. harry was always there for hermione and hermione was always there for harry. :(

and i also agree that hermione and ron’s kiss was so weirdly timed like they nearly died and then oH lEs kIsS

I've always wanted Harry and Hermoine to end up together. When I knew he just ended up with GINNY I was like " I'm never gonna watch this again. But the movie was so good I just kept watching it though

"She picked up the book and then walked back past him into the tent, but as she did so, she brushed the top of his head lightly with her hand. He closed his eyes at her touch, and hated himself for wishing that what she said was true: that Dumbledore had really cared."
That's at the end of chapter 18 of the Deathly Hallows. Seems like more than friendship to me.

Totally agree, with you! In the fourth book there is also the fact that Hermione remain at Harry's side and helps him while Ron and almost everybody else turn their backs on him. That could have brought them closer for a romantic relationship.

Put perfectly. No one really deserved Hermione, cuz let's be real she is too good for Ron and Harry but that being said; if it had to be either of them then it has to be Harry. He genuinely respected and admired her where as Ron insulted and bickered with her.

3:06 No! Don't bring that up again! That dance and then Hermione ending up with Ron gave me depression...😑😑😑

Even as a kid when the books first came out, and they started pushing the Ron/Hermione romance, I was like 'they aren't right for each other'. Harry and Hermione had respect, and friendship, and chemistry. Whereas her and Ron were just really immature, and he was always trying to control her emotionally. Harry was totally supportive of her, whereas Ron, not so much. Many people will say 'just because they are friends, doesn't mean they are right for each other' but the same could be said of Hermione and Ron.

I feel like Ron abused Hermione because he made her cry all the time and I felt like Harry really respected her unlike Ron did

Let's be honest, Harry hooked up with Ginny because she was the most like Ron.

Everybody is saying that the whole point of Harry and Hermione not dating is to prove different genders can just be friends. Ron and Hermione and different genders so if Harry and Hermione did date, Ron and Hermione would still remain just friends!(duh! no hate tho...)

My dream pairing from childhood ... Shattered by the last books. I was enraged that Hermione ended up with Ron, although I do not dislike the character himself, I really think they both would have never worked out. Someone who fights all the time, who doesn't agree in most of the actions or thoughts from the other, someone who makes you cry more often than not ... It just doesn't sound appealing. To me, Harry and Hermione understood each other perfectly, respected and admire each other, had a perfectly good chemistry and worked incredibly well as a team. They also trusted each other with their lives, believed in their actions and reasons ... It was just meant to be. I'm glad that J.K. thought about it and admitted that her final decision was not the best. Thanks a lot for the video btw, I enjoyed it a lot.

YES!!! I read all book multiple times and I still think Hermione and Harry should be together.
Friends can be great lovers as well, there's nothing wrong with a healthy relationship like that!

I think I've come up with a compromise nearly everyone can agree with. The romantic storyline in Harry Potter, both book and movie, was not the best. In my opinion, the romance felt forced for both. The story is absolutely amazing, but romance will never be something Harry Potter will be remembered for.

If you want to ship characters together, you have fanfiction and fan forums for that.

This video really illustrate many good points for the potential Harry / Hermione relationship, Harry & Ginny have a very weak relationship together, the first 4 years at Hogwarts she was merely Ron's little sister and had very little to do with him, 5th year she helped at the Ministry and that was it, 6th year 'magically' Harry turned hopelessly in love seemingly with Ginny... out of nowhere... no wonder for the 'Magic Potion Conspiracy' theory make so much sense, they have very little relationship development in 5 years only for him to suddenly decide in 6th year she was the love of his life, only for her to prove she really didn't know him in book 7 when she bitched about him having to go on his journey to oppose Voldemort.

Ultimately all they have in common is that they both have suffered at Voldemort's hand, they both love Quidditch, they both are predominantly good in DADA, otherwise they have nothing in common, a shared love of sport, a share high performance in a school class and having been traumatized by the main bad guy is all that link them and much of it is either flimsy or really not all that good a reason for them to be together.

Also as it was stated if Harry needed to be with someone akin to his mother, Hermione is FAR more like Lily than Ginny, Lily and Ginny share temperament and hair color, that is about it. Lily and Hermione however were both at the top of the charts in term of grades, so both more intellectually driven, also both are Mugleborn, and thus both had to deal with similar social issues in the Magical World, and both were completely dedicated to Harry and would have died for him if needed.

Now admittedly for me their is a pairing I favor to be someone better than Hermione for Harry namely Luna Lovegood, she has lost her mother causing similar loss to Harry, causing her to have a less than stellar childhood, at least the part after her mother's death, albeit in a very different form. They also were both social pariah among their houses at times, were belittled and rejected by society. However the reason I favor Luna is she has that sort of acceptance and peacefulness to her that Harry would have desperately needed to get, also she is somebody that would have known his pain and been thus able to help sooth it, something Hermione didn't really fully comprehend. Luna is also very intelligent if albeit a dreamer, but I think her being a dreamer would have helped Harry because frankly at the end of things it felt Harry lacked dreams, he was far too burrowed in the harsh reality of things, so having a dreamer for a lover would have helped balance him out.
