I was kind of impressed with the pricing of the 790 Adventure. I’m more into dirt bikes and a 2019 KTM 450 SXF Factory Edition is $11, 000. Now I’m wondering why dirt bikes which have a lot less technology on them and that are a lot smaller cost so much?🤔

My local Ktm dealers literally know fuck all about street bikes. If it's not dirt bikes they can't be bothered. It's a huge reason I never bought the 790 Duke.

Since the 790 doesn't seem as nimble say, a 690, I wonder if it's a better idea to just go 1080?

790 has two models S and R. S is good on the road but sucks in the dirt. With R model is the opposite - sucks on the road ( need steering damper ), but it is good on the dirt.
both models are packed with totally unnecessary complex
They are great to go to nearest caffe or shopping most of them will be used any way.
In adventure bike LESS is MORE. You don't want adventure bike packed with sensors and electronics - and being stranded somewhere in the middle of now where because you cant fix the problem by hot wiring without resistor ( like the side stand for example )....and that should be a simple fix.
COMPLEXITY caused by OVER DESIGNING that can leave you stranded is ENGINEERING FAULT.
