Which is better the $5000+ Hasselblad Xpan or the $10 Ansco Pix Panorama??
Sunday Strolls Episode Twenty-Four

Sunday Strolls is a little photo series where we walk around our neighborhood and take photos with whatever film camera and whatever film stock we’re feel that Sunday. The only goal in mind is having a good time, and if the photos turn out, it’s an added bonus.

I think the Pano's fall off on the edges gives it a more 'dreamy-cinematic' feel, and the extra grain isn't too bad. I really liked the pictures and I love the price tag even more

Good to see the "5$ from a thrift store" meme still works

This was a fun video! Cool shots and composition! I have the same $10 camera, as well as several other cheap pano options. Thanks for sharing this!

Loved hearing your thoughts comparing the differences! This goes for almost all hobbies: the cheap option does the job just fine, but we want the sexy expensive one 😘

Love the video, only thing I'd recommend is maybe to shoot the same film stock in both for a more fair comparison (the Pix was going to get crushed at full crop regardless, but grain might have been less of a problem with Portra). Either way, entertaining video as always, I look forward to the next one!

The skiing reference about the rail is a well deserved sub

Is it wrong that I like the photos from the $10.00 camera better? I picked up an old point and shoot at a yard sale for 25 cents. It's a favorite of mine to shoot with.

Image quality wise (sharpness, grain etc): no question XPan is the winner.
But I think some of images shot with the Ansco Pano are still very usable, as long as not for huge prints. After all, what really matters is the man behind the camera.

This video makes me think there's no equivalent XPan alternative. By "equivalent", I mean:
- It shoots 65x24
- It's still reasonably compact like XPan (with a built-in rangefinder)
- It's an interchangebale lens system.

Practically all the alternatives I see fails on at least one of them.

Both have their place. Maybe I would give my daughter the Pix and me the Hasselblad for the day.
