Some of these comments that tell the newbie that it is pointless to even try to use this camera as their first camera are spot-on for people that are ordinary and the advice is proper coming from people that believe that they are themselves some elite class of artists or technicians. In reality, if you are absolutely committed and passionate about anything in the world, you can jump into it and learn. If you are passionate, have a story to tell, willing to be self-critical and receive criticism from people that are not against you but want to see you win, you can take this camera which may be way above your head and rock! Don't let these commenters wet on your dreams. You can only be as great as what you have overcome! I know from experience. My first camera was a RED Vista Vision. My rig cost me over $50k and I am creating insane content. But, I do consume everything film like a fiend! The learning is absolutely the best part. It doesn't hurt when you show up to shoot a paying gig and jaws drop! You get business sometimes just showing up with this beast! On top of that, I charge a lot more because of it. Dream BIG and put yourself to the test. YOLO.

Why is does RED still use a Flash OS that isn't stable? So many reds I have worked with have bug issues. its like a kid build is own camera. so janky.

These arguments and images are supposed to impress ... Hey Red, what's going on ?? We become worried? ...
The Komodo will face the competition ... including the BMPCC 6K, which is a success, but also against the new Z-Cam ...
But the Komodo will be twice as expensive as its competitors, without accessories ... and Red will keep his policy, the same as for his other cameras ...

I may be wrong supersampling means you shoot in a 8K sensor in 4K and the camera utilises all the pixels and downsizes the final file resolution to 4k size, like ARRI cameras do... NO RED cameras, which actually CROP the 8K sensor portion that equals 4K resolution.... so this sounds misleading and confusing, is it a new firmware??? new DSMC 3 features???? also, image stabilisation is NOT SUPPORTED on RED cameras.... is done in post by other companies softwares, so what is this all
