How CATHERINE THE GREAT looked in Real Life- With Animations- Mortal Faces

Catherine the Great was Empress of Russia (1762-1796).
She was the country's longest-ruling female leader. She came to power following a coup d'état that overthrew her husband and second cousin, Peter III. Under her reign, Russia grew larger, its culture was revitalized, and it was recognized as one of the great powers of Europe.

She had her favourites: Count Grigory Orlov, Stanisław Poniatowski, and Grigory Potemkin amongst many more.

Her marriage to Peter III was not a happy one and this led her to overthrow him making herself Empress of Russia.

Catherine had a very eventful life and I wanted to capture that in her portraits. All of the renderings and transformations were done by me in Photoshop, After Effects, and Cinema 4d. All of this is just my artistic interpretation of how I think she might have looked like in real life. Totally my own opinions.

Thanks for watching!

Thank you for showing us what Catherine the Great may have looked like. She had natural good looks and mesmerizing eyes. Add her strong, charming personality and well educated intellect, no wonder she was a great and successful ruler! Amazing!

How absolutely wonderful that these characters have been brought back to life. Nobility is always interesting, but what about some musicians, such as Telemann, JS Bach and sons, Mozart, Beethoven, and all the rest of them. Also the famous and not so famous artists, scientists, popes………. History is so full of historical characters indeed

You are the best at this! You animate the entire head so realistically. You could believe they are alive. With others only the face moves under static hair which looks comical. Thank you…

Small point for historical accuracy - the former Emperor who Catherine (likely) had executed was Ivan VI - not Ivan IV (who was Ivan the Terrible!)

Catherine is beyond beautiful... as an enthusiast for 17th and 18th century Europe I can't thank you enough for all the excellent content! Would there be any chance you do Frederick the Great, Maria Theresa and her family, and the french enlightenment writers (like Voltaire, Rousseau, Diderot, D'Alembert etc.)?

Plus your fascinating narratives. Thanks. I'll have hours of enjoyment traveling into the past because of you.

I love your work, please keep it up. Maybe do one of Henry VII or even Edward III of England. And maybe one of Rollo who started the Normans of France. Those would be interesting.

These are so well presented. .
Thank you. This is entertaining and educational in equal measure. Do you fancy doing a few of the more famous or infamous Pope's???

Great work, as always. I think you particularly succeeded in her eyes, no matter what age. Could you do Napoleon?

I've two suggestions for the next face brought back to life. The first, if possible, Wu Zeitian the only female emperor of China. There is a china Buddha statue that's face was modeled from hers and I think one known portrait taken from life. My second suggestion is Elinore Toledo of Florence ( I hope I got her name right) who loved clothes and has several portraits.
