👋🏻 Hey guys! In this video I cover 7 of the most common reasons I have found students to be unmotivated when studying. I've experienced a lot of these myself and also picked them up from others over my many (many 😅) years of studying at university.

I hope you find them useful and I'll catch you in the next one - 1 Milly subs baby! Peace ✌🏻

Worrying about failure resonates sooo much! I failed my first exam season at medschool, so the stress of failing again made me fail my second one too… But after having been trough that and acknowledging that the stress doesn’t help me in any way I was able to make it right and I have been passing all my exams since! Thanks! Great video!

Couldn’t agree more! Once I changed my mindset and made sure I was taking care of my body (sleep schedule, eating well and working out) I noticed changes in my productivity 💛

Idk HOW but every video shows up just in time to help me with what i am going thru at the moment. I´ve been really unmotivated since i saw my effort not getting the results i wanted it to, and i stopped trying. I started finding it hard to wake up early and sit down to study, cause i didnt want to feel like a failure again. But, as you said, NOT trying is the only way you assure failure. SO THANKS i really needed it! Baby steps from now on, but im sure i will make it, and you will all too <3

Thank you for these realistic videos Nasir. SO refreshing to hear that people dont just study for 12 hours straight like robots lol. I think a lot my problems around studying come from perfectionism. I spend more time dreaming about things being perfect then actually doing it. In those situations its better to just get the ball rolling and break down the big tasks into small manageable tasks to spur me on to study. Definitely, just getting started sometimes is the hardest but most necessary thing to do.

Really needed this video. Fear of failure has really taken over me in the last couple of years. I guess it’s because I have failed before and never want to go back to how that felt.

Thank you Dr.Nasir.. I am "reprising" what you said :
" Compartmentalisation" : just like cell compartmentalisation which improves efficiency--- we also must compartmentalise all the different stresses in our life and focus on priorities.
" Don't be too harsh on ourselves" ----so basically we have to restore our serotonin levels which automatically makes us to think positively, by exercising+ good diet.
" Perceived difficulty and Actual difficulty" ---- so, here ...we have to time on the brain.
Using resources: Sketchy medical, Osmosis, Flash cards .
" Jedi mind tricks" ---- idk about these, r they real ???

I pray that in time you will grow to become a fine healer of the body and mind. Most of the videos you produce resonate so much in real life experiences and situations that they are so hard to shrug off or ignore because they're true. Listening to you makes me see that no one is born mediocre. They just have to start off on the way best for them.

This video is amazing since it has created some motivation for me to study without any setbacks. Thanks for sharing!
As an International A Level student, I finally discovered that relaxation is also pivotal during my studying process. My main obstacle on studying is physical tiredness since I didn't study well in the past and I need to refill some basic skills (e.g. reading and comprehension).
I didn't study well in the past until the IGCSE grade, but I still have got 6A* 1A in IGCSE exams and overall Band 7 in the IELTS exam due to my motivations and invented methodology (e.g. applying knowledge in real life and sharing to classmates to have fun).

Apart from the tips mentioned here, we’re also a symptom of our society. If one is inducted into a system where ‘failure’ and ‘success’ are defined with such rigidity, it’s hard to continue with consistency. Also, abuse and trauma can help with motivation, which feels like an uphill battle (there are exceptions). I’m not saying there are no solutions, just a lot of dimensions that come in the way of motivation.

False sense of security is such a pain. Literally everyone I talk to blows off how much work they do like it's no big deal and I just got this warped perception of how much effort everyone was putting in. This made me feel was more unmotivated to do work since there was such a lazy feeling surrounding studying around me.

Listened to the video while sobbing, was really overwhelmed. I'm so glad for this content since I watch you basically, like my true friend whenever I'm demotivated I watch your vids they are my comfort source. I started watching you since your first vids where your goal was to guide those who had no guidance like yourself at that time. I always related to you and looked up to you Thank you so much. Jazak Allahu khyran kaseera

Hard to stay motivated when you are a student in an undeveloped country of eastern Europe where everything depends on the acquaintances of your parents, the pay toll is hella low (200/300$) or zero for interns/junior doctors, nurses, etc. where the education is not valued and you basically face injustice in every step you take... that kinda kills your motivation even if you are a brilliant student sadly...
