One thing I've always found interesting about these zombie apocalypse shows and movies is that none of these characters have any idea how old they are. Time passes, and you soon lose track of the months since you have nothing to track them with. You focus on survival and the weather. Eventually, you won’t even know how old you are. Just a thought I had.
