WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY?

Most of us have been taught to believe that happiness is linked to our accomplishments. We think that we’ll be happy when we get married, or we’ll be satisfied when we get a promotion at work. We are convinced that we’ll find joy when we finally buy that luxury car.

But happiness is better linked to contentment. It’s about being content with what we have - not hunting for anything more than what we need. The abundance of the present is enough to lead a happy and healthy life.

Of course, this doesn’t mean that we should settle for things as they are. We should continue to dream, set goals, and work towards them. We just need to remember to enjoy the journey and not rush to make it happen.

Being grateful for everything we do have instead of spending most of our time thinking about what we don’t have, makes life a lot more beautiful. So take that first step toward happiness.

Coming from someone who has had a dog my entire life of 67 years, I can tell you, first of all, dogs don't need to talk to communicate to us if we pay attention, and I think the fact that they don't talk is why we love them so much.. My dog tells me exactly what he wants. Sometimes I don't understand because I am stupid or not paying attention close enough. And they always understand us. They may chose to ignore us sometimes but they do understand. My old dog who died in June of 2020 literally saved my life. I never thought I would love another dog as much, but my springer spaniel Spud is filling that hole. He is different than her and like our children, we love them all, each for their special personality. My dog gives my life purpose. He pisses me off sometimes, BUT, he makes me happy. Cheers.

Lost my girl of 15 years last summer. My heart broke! She taught me love, patience, to enjoy the simple things in life, to be grateful and forgiveness...and to enjoy life. She was a wonderful friend and dog.

My dad lived the life of a Irish rocker . Very hard partying . He had a dog called Spot. He was the same as this man. He loved his family, his culture, his food and drink, and the great dog Spot. Plus, other animals. He said they were more civilised than many people . He would have liked this man.
