Wow! That meteor just barely missed the visitor center...LOL! It is an awesome sight to see. You covered it very well.

Heck yes it's worth the visit! So's the mountains near Flag, along with the lava fields. Highway sounds out there? The sound of freedom moving. They really have fixed the place up since I was last there in the early 2000's...

We were there in June of 1973 and loved it! At that time you could hike to the bottom.

My Aunt & Uncle lived & ran the tourist/gift shop in the 60's
I treasure the post cards they sent with stories of what they did & people they met while being the care takers of the Crater!

My wife and I were here September 2021. Very nice RV Park, one of our favorites. Loved Meteor Crater also.

Sure, it's worth the visit. Breathtaking, indeed. A meteor 50, 000 yrs. ago, 150 ft. across hit what is now Arizona with an impact like 100 tons of TNT, blowing out a crater a MILE ACROSS and 500 ft. deep? Heck, yeah. THE MUSEUM at the crater is sure worth the visit too. Pictures are deceiving, its hard to fathom the size. Thanks for the visit!

Back in 2003 when my wife and I were traveling and working seasonal jobs we worked a winter at the rv park. I was lucky enough to get too tour all the way around the rim of the crater it was cool to be able to see the crater all the way around.

Marvelous video, Russ ! Meteor Crater is a must-see landmark in the Western United States. Imagine the tremendous explosion when the meteor hit the ground ! Johnny Carson once joked "McDonald's says they have served over 10 million hamburghers ... The Company is seriously considering the purchase of a second cow ..." RICHARD

Well, I’m a standing on a corner
in Winslow, Arizona,
and such a fine sight to see.
It’s a girl, my Lord, in a flatbed Ford
slowin’ down to take a look at me.

🙋‍♀️Hello Russ! Do you know where the nearest McDonalds is? 🤣🤣 Made my day! I liked seeing the Meteor Crater. Enjoyed visiting the museum too. I couldn't imagine the impact that would have been felt by the Farmer & his Wife. One Summer day, we heard the oddest sound. My Sister & I came out of our homes with our children looking out from behind us. We couldn't believe what we saw. The barn that Grandpaul built, collapsed. Just like that. No wind. Just was tired of standing I guess. Oddest thing.

We went to Vegas, jumped in our rental car and drove east to petrified forest and hit most of the sites on the way back. Painted desert, meteor, grand canyon. Then we hit the sites just outside Vegas, Red Rock canyon, Valley of Fire, etc. By the time we turned our car in we put on 1599 miles. Then we spent 2 hours in Vegas and flew back home. We had a very nice trip. Love the videos.

I passed the exit times in my life and always wondered. I'm too old now so Thank you so much for taking me there.

I went to the crater in the late 60's but the admission fee was too steep so I left and satisfied my curiosity with pictures.

When I flew down from Colorado to Mesa, we flew right over the crater. It was awesome from the air too. Want to make another trip to see it on the ground. Thanks for the beautiful videos Russ.
