i literally regretted starting this once i hit the 1:15 mark BUT I POWERED THROUGH!!! this was by far the hardest animatic i've done yet (maybe cause there were so many drawings???) i hope y'all enjoy!!

- really aimed for a combination of anime tropes and a cinema feel LOL i always aim to tell a story while supporting the song with my animatics so hopefully that came across!!
- i cant draw dogs like im pretty sure i subconsciously drew toby fox in some drawings

I love the detail of Telemachus having to sneak through the window to get to his room without running into the suitors. Also how the guards have to escort him and Penelope so the suitors can’t hurt them. The way they have to sneak up on him and get him alone to do something to him. It really shows how much of a threat the suitors really are

I luv how the line delivery at 1:15 was interpreted as Telemachus stammering when he sees the suitors. I would have never thought of it that way!

The amount of dynamic camera angles really made it seem like an actual movie (also love how Telemachus looks like such a shonen protag in this one and the goofy expressions his dog makes in the backgrounds!)

I LOVE how much penelope looks visibly worn out and weary in this, not just because it’s been 20 years since she’s seen her husband, whom she isn’t sure is even alive, passed. But having a bunch of men staying in her home, constantly bothering her and her son and now, beating up said son, must’ve stressed the hell out of her

oh the FURY in his eyes after antinous makes his nasty comments!! i really love the idea of telemachus actually training and not just dreaming, and i love the detail of penelope watching him with pride and fondness

This HAS to be my favorite Legendary animatic. I love the details of Telemachus having to sneak back into his room of his own home through a WINDOW to avoid the suitors. Even the drawing he did of him and odysseus has the Trojan Horse next to them. And Athena don’t pretend we didn’t see you we did. Even as an owl.

I love how Penelope and Telemachus have guards escorting them, just to keep them safe, but how Telemachus wants to find any way to his mom safe.

And the fact that leads into Telemachus trying to teach himself how to fight with a dummy is just- brilliant. And then it leads into the ending and I just- WOW.

I love how he’s actually training! His design is by far my favorite. And the way he’s treated like an actual prince, more or less, also Athena, Argos.. this animatic has literally everything!!

I really love that you've included the presence of guards keeping the suitors at bay, even if not well enough. Telemachus is prince, and the suitors being able to just openly beat him up never sat well with me.

When he says “if I fight those monsters, is it you I’ll find?” I don’t think he means finding him literally (although he definitely does want to) I think he wants to find Odyseus’s strength and smarts inside himself.
