It's Revv Time!

Every day we get asked about the difference between G20 and D20's clean channels - so we made a video just for that!

How do you hear the difference?

Awesome! That’s exactly the video I was looking for! They seems to be almost there on clean, and for some reasons I’m liking the G20 a lil more even on clean channel. I’m gonna get it as soon as I can!

Thanks for sharing! Focused demos on specific characteristics/real-world uses are very helpful. Just acquired the D20 a few weeks back and have been loving it so far.

Just got my G20. It sounds unbelievable for recording and so easy to use with the built in load. It has truly changed the way I record for the better 100 fold.

A purple D20? So jealous. If it had bright green lights it’d be perfect!

Let's hear the 2 channel more vintage amp, after the new revoicing.
That'd be the one I'd put to work.
These ReV dude's are really onto something special. I use the G3 pedal often, I call it
"The Cut". It's very useful in a loud and live human band situation.
I appreciate it so much they're totally doing their own thing and are successful🙏

Hi Shawn. Great informative video on these fantastic Revv amps. I am thinking the D20 more for gain/solo sounds and the G20 more for clean tones; best of both worlds. Now all we need are some gigs to play, once this pandemic is over. Peace and stay well Shawn.

How about a high gain G20 vs. D20 + G3/G4 shootout?

Man both sound amazing. I'd probably go with the D20. Sounded a little richer and fatter but still plenty bright. Can't go wrong with either one really

My favorite tone was that little bit of lead through the G2 and the D20 with the neck pickup, but you didn't do that through the G20. That was a beautiful warm Fender-esque tone, which is exactly what I've been watching video after video trying to find out if the G20 can do.

Excellent comparison, though. I'm leaning G20. I'm going to assume it would sound pretty close to the D20, since the rest was so similar.

Great comparison Shawn. Thanks. I have been looking at getting a Revv amp for a while. Is it able to keep up in a back line at smaller gigs without being mic'd up? I have other low watt amps which are easily loud enough (Marshall origin 20h, victory sheriff 22, vox AC15, suhr Hombre) the addition of the two notes in the Revv is a real attraction. Would be keen to hear what others have experienced.

I got the D20 a while back and gave it a month to learn as much as I could about it and the software and I just could not get it to work for me. I ran a J Rockett majestic in front of it. Im sure I was doing something wrong. I wanted that amp to be the anwser for me while recording at home.

Hey Shawn,

Really torn on which of these to pull the trigger on. Would you say both take pedals equally well? I definitely rely on pedals for a majority of my gain stages, but I’m interested in the on board gain of the g20.

The volume knobs are on max how much db, we need bedroom level so between 65 and 75 db

Which one of the 2 would be best for jazz?

Great video! Would you say the D20 would be voiced similar to the Dynamis and the G20 like the 7-40?

I’m sure you’ve answered this question in a video I haven’t seen so sorry in advance but do you like using these heads live over a full size head? Or do you go the modeler route live?

Are these essentially smaller versions of the two 7-40s?

Can you get some EVH type sounding gain out of these? Thanks!
