Mountain Mama: 1980s Country Classics Edition

Z-Bear is heading back to the country for another video in her Mountain Mama series. We hope you enjoyed the free form nature of the first two episodes where she shared music spanning several decades from the 1960s all the way up to current day. However, this time around it is all about the decade of the 1980s. Even though all of the songs in this show are from a ten year period, it is really interesting to hear the evolution throughout this time span. The twangy guitars and soft rock influenced melodies of the early 80s tracks contrast yet fit nicely alongside the more drum and electric guitar songs of the late 80s. Furthermore the songs in this video are not chronological so you are able to hear the differences and compatibilities quite clearly.

I'm traveling through the back catalogue like a slow freight train meandering through the hills and trees and blowing my long and lonely whistle in the still of the midnight chilly air...Damn...That's a pure country scene right there. Anyway, growing up, I was never allowed to listen to Rock and Roll. As we all know, it was the devil's music. So, the kitchen radio was always tuned into the local country station. It's a good thing I avoided all that devil music. Instead, I learned myself how to cheat on my lover in the back of a pickup truck while smoking, chewing and drinking beer. I feel these life lessons served me better. Loved this set many many times over! Come back Z-Bear. We miss you.

This took me back to my teenage years. Mom always had the radio playing in our home, and it was always on the country station. She would dance around the kitchen while cooking dinner, and I would sing along while being her sues chef. Thank you for that trip down memory lane. Life was sweet, I just didn't realize it then.
