Do yourselves a huge favor and watch the greatest 20 minutes in music history, Queen’s Live Aid performance in 1985. Freddie has 100, 000 people in the palm of his hand. It is glorious.

Queen did this song during their performance at Live Aid.It's a 20 minute video ya'll might not have a lot of time for, watch the whole video, but it is the greatest performance in rock history, if ya'll do it 2 parts.Well worth it

Saw Queen on Freddie's birthday at Wembley during The Works tour. We all sang Happy Birthday to him and he was literally speechless for a good few minutes. I can look back and take that memory with me.

As many others have said...WATCH THE QUEEN SEGMENT OF LIVE-AID FROM 1985. It is the greatest 20 minutes of live music ever captured on video.
This song also features in the film Highlander and the Queen/Freddie Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody.

1 singer, 3 musicians, nothing but pure talent. No gimmicks. Queen's Live Aid performance is the best rock show of all time. I can't imagine anything ever toping it.

I saw Queen 5 times between 1975-80. Five consecutive tours for five consecutive albums. A Night at the Opera, A Day at the Races, News of the World, Jazz, The Game. They were so amazing live, I just kept going back…Thank you Freddie, Brian, Roger and John!

I'm old enough that I could have seen Queen in concert when Freddie was still alive (I was 23 when he passed in 1991), and they were my favorite band from my early teens-onward. It's one of the great regrets of my life that I never did....

This song is one that must be played with the volume at 11. My favourite Queen song!
Best line: For we who grew up tall and proud in the shadow of the mushroom cloud, convinced our voices can't be heard, we just wanna scream it louder and louder!

You need to react to Queen’s Live Aid performance, in its entirety…..well worth it.

The lyrics at several points refer to the Cold War era in which the band members grew up, fuelling the popular conception that the song was about nuclear war:

For we who grew up tall and proud
In the shadow of the mushroom cloud

The term "waiting for the hammer to fall" in the song was taken to refer to the anticipation by the public that Cold War would turn "hot" – or, alternatively, as a reference to the Soviet Hammer and Sickle.[citation needed]

The song also contains references to death and its inevitability:

Rich or poor or famous
For your truth it's all the same (oh no oh no)

The question of the meaning of the song was effectively settled when May wrote on his website that "Hammer to Fall is really about life and death, and being aware of death as being part of life", and that "the Hammer coming down is only a symbol of the Grim Reaper doing his job!"[11]

Yes I saw Queen, fall 1979, I was a senior in high school. It was an unbelievable concert. I still remember the experience. I have 2 regrets, one of my all time favorites "Radio Gaga" had not yet been released and the 2nd was I never got another chance to see them. I know I am just being greedy 😁. Thank you for the reaction and smile today 💜.

That's one of my proudest things. I saw Queen five times between '77 and '82, including twice in '77 for two different tours. (Day at the Races and News of the World. Haircut culture shock.) They always put on a show that was mind-blowing. There was absolutely nothing like Queen and never will be. Luckily, my Pop was also a huge fan so I never had to worry about missing the show when they came to town. RIP Freddie RIP Pop
