I'm trying to find motivation for reading not for my interest but due to requirements such as in school... I know you make good points but couldn't you also get these from watching documentaries or news... Also even if you do read and the person you are dating also reads doesn't guarantee that you two read the same books, because there are tons of books out there, meanwhile people who go on dates usually watch movies and they can talk about that or things they have in common... while both can enjoy reading there are other factors that can determine whether the date will be successful such as physical attraction, sense of humor, charisma, etc.

I find your points fascinating, I'm wondering what they are based off of though? And I'd like to argue that desire isn't too low of a level of consciousness, I find that particularly strong and believe it drives courage forward.
