While I agree with Fed’s reasoning, I find it ironic that just putting Rolex in the title generates views and engagement. It shows how powerful the crown’s branding is.

Agree totally with Fed. This Rolex pricing debacle has allowed me to get into other brands I never otherwise would have, and I never even think about Rolex anymore. And I was a Rolex owner/fanboy for about 23 years.

“It’s not me. A guy who wears Rolex wears Gucci slides and a Supreme t-shirt.” It’s not me, either. I am wearing a Wrangler work shirt, Carhartt khakis, and LL Bean bison hide loafers. I’m driving my 2009 Chevy Silverado hybrid crew cab 4x4 and I’m wearing the early 2000s Omega SMP that my wife gave me when I earned tenure. And I am perfectly happy not owning a Rolex.

Agree!. With Rolex it’s more about the status than the watch itself as it’s the most famous brand on earth!

I bought a new black GMT in Dec 2017 at the Rolex dealer with a discount. still in the collection but can't believe market prices today of the same watch. razy how times have changed.

Rolex at retail makes sense even without mega resale potential. Rolex on the secondary market challenges the value equation.

Love or hate Rolex, the worldwide market perceives the value in Rolex long-term. As a brand, you can own and wear almost every model and then get your money back to trade up to get another Rolex. Other brands can only say the same on specific models or their watches depreciate.

Just picked up my new Tudor GMT today and it definitely checks all the right boxes. I have a 7.25 wrist and it fits perfectly. Highly recommend 👍🏻

Honestly, Rolex watches have become like a commercial you see so much you just become numb to it. The design, the name, everything is boring and mass produced.

Totally agree with Fed! I was looking for an Explorer II until I kept thinking about what I could get for the money. Just literally picked up a wonderful piece from Delray just a few minutes ago for a fantastic price. Thank you guys for stocking the best, most interesting watches!

I think Feds blunt opinion is on the nose. I can see it spawning hate from some. But if you watch his channel regularly, it comes from a knowledgeable and honest place.
Summed up as "Its your money, do what you want. Its just not for me."

Another problem with Rolex is that you can't wear them without worrying of getting robbed

Buy what you like if you have the funds. If you manage to get yourself a Rolex sports model, it’ll still look great in most occasion in 20 + years without many services in between.

I like Fed a lot and listen to his program, but I disagree with buying a Rolex because one wants to be cool. I liked a couple of Rolex watches when I was young and thought I would buy them when I retire. I can still recognize them instantly after all these years, and I appreciate it. Rolex has stayed true to their DNA, whereas unfortunately many other companies (hello Omega) forgot who they were and engage in cheapening their brand with hundreds of pointless "special editions". So yes, I like Rolex. What I find offensive, though, is Rolex ADs and the game they play. There is no way in hell I will participate in that. It's a scam.

I’m not selling any of my Rolex, that being said I won’t buy another. I’ve moved on and I’m seriously thinking over purchasing a H Moser Heritage Center Seconds. I’m even considering liquidating my vintage Pateks.

Just another way to mention Rolex. The guy on right literally says Rolex five times in one sentence lol And who the fu*k buys a $10k watch as a beater.

Rolex's grey market prices have gone absolutely wild, but if bought at retail, you can't say these other brands are better "value" Those watches bought at retail will decrease as you walk out of the store. Most SS Rolex's are worth more after placing it on your wrist and walking out of the store, and can take a beating. Which is a better "value?" Also I absolutely hate it when people say things like "Hey have you seen the guys that wear Rolex's now? They all That's not me!" I do not own one Supreme T shirt or Designer slides, but that is a very "upity" condescending remark to make. Everyone doesn't have to wear a suit or polo shirt 2 sizes to small to wear a particular brand watch. Instagramers, which I am also not, are typically younger people and will typically wear the younger "hip" brands. I think its cool they're getting into watches for whatever reason. Those doing it for the hype may get tired and move on, but many may continue to be intrigued and grow their horology knowledge. Many of us have gotten into watches for silly reasons ie, favorite movie star wore one, favorite musician, trying to impress someone. Or more sentimental reasons, a relative wore one, passed down as a heirloom etc. Let's get off of our high horse.

Yeah!! Good to see you guys together again. 💪🏻👍🏻 with the old school microphone

With Rolex it’s also the hype and certain types i do not like, and the groupies.

Sold my modern Rolex watches and bought vintage Rolex which were built for a purpose unlike the jewellery and fashionable object they’ve become
