@tannerfarmstead I used a True Leaf
cover mix in late August, as it was a
winter-kill blend. Wanted to open up
a new bed on grass here in 6b
Pennsylvania. I topped the lawn with
my homemade compost and seeded
into that, kept it moist for about 8
days. Germinated very well and the
whole bed was flush with plants
before the end of September.

In late February, I dug a small hole to examine the soil. Wow. I don't precisely know how this bkend works, but the pale yellow clay was now topped with a very dark brown layer about 1 1/2" deep. Daikons weren't huge, but they were vigorous! I'll use the same True Leaf blend before Labor Day.
