What cameras would you like me to compare next?

iPhone is like a song in MP3 format, lower quality but a lot more convenient and versatile (and cheaper). Dedicated camera is like a CD or vinyl, much higher (sound) quality but requires setup and knowledge to operate properly in order to accentuate its full potential. For most of the people, MP3 is a better choice.

I had an a6000 and I struggled with this as phones improved, until finally, I’ve put the mirrorless on a shelf and I rely almost exclusively on my phone. Why? It’s always in my pocket, it always works, it’s always web connected, and it takes good photos and excellent video.

Thank you for talking in a slower pace and for explaining things with simplicity. Great video comparison. Good job!

I bought the iPhone 16 Pro for only €860—used but like new, with just two charging cycles. I think it's an amazing deal because it's half the price of the Sony camera here in Europe.

I think it highly depends on what you are going to use the footage / photos for. If you are using them for phone screens and not for printing or bigger screens, the phone is fine, but as soon as you leave the small screen territory the difference is highly noticeable, not just in general quality but also in composition. I always use my A7 as prime and 15 Pro as backup cam, when I dont see a big benefit in shooting with a dedicated camera.

I just bought the 16 pro max. I have the lumix s5ii and I’m contemplating on selling my rig and just using the iPhone. The content that I make this is all I really need. Great video as always Joe

phones never cut it for me for photography. I shoot landscape and there is a huge difference. I print 20 x 30 and 24 x 36 prints. If there was no difference, i would never carry a larger sensor camera. iphone 16 pro max using its wide angle is 1/2.55 sensor (6.17mm x 4.55mm, area of 28mm). aps-c is 23.6mm x 15.6mm, area of 368.16. that is an area 13x larger. even bigger with full frame sensor.

The very fact that smartphones are even at the level of this, trying to figure out what is what, is incredible! Great post!

Comparisons between picture A and picture B are always fun, and very easy to solve. If no additional clip-on lenses are used on iPhones, you can always see the missing boket very quickly.

This is my first ever video of yours and I am 36 seconds into the video and can already tell you're going to be an amazing person to follow because you shared the files ❤ Not everyone thinks like that, keep it up 🙌 Okay now I am going to continue watching the video 😁

iPhone 16 is really great, and good enough for most situations for most people!

the problems with dedicated camera is price and image processing. we should spend $800-1000 only for basic camera. even the $600 phone now equiped with very decent camera setup and fast processor capability.

we can do all content creation capability with single device. may be they should making phone connected lens system to making wider market.

The difference was noticeable in the first seconds of the video 😄Sony is significantly more expensive but also significantly better 🤷‍♀ Using affordable G lens will help for much better stabilization.

The coolest thing about it all is that we've gotten to a time where this kind of video is being made in all seriousness. It's not the Nokia N90, which itself was huge, had a longer camera than the Sony you compared. And yes, closing our eyes we then said “well wow already cell phones as can shoot, although if you open those videos now, it becomes funny, from the terrible quality.” And now in the phone, which is less than 1 cm thick, we get a video, which is not that not obviously worse, but you have to compare them side by side, to look at the subtleties and detail on the LARGE That's really cool! That said, the iPhone has a sharper picture due to its post-processing stuff. Personally, I do not like it, and everyone who likes the movie frame, but the fact itself! It's cool!
I had such a thing that about 4 years ago my Fuji xt3 ran out of battery, and poverbank, as it turned out later, did not have powerdelivery and therefore did not help, but, at that time, already an old iPhone 6c plus helped to finish shooting frames, which I then perfectly combined on the editing, well processed. And so that a person who is not trained, the average person would not even notice the difference. And now on 15 pro max we have a thing that will complement the picture perfectly. Which can be combined at all without problems on the general editing.

The camera has the granularity and the versatility that I need. Shoot photos at a night, indoor concert with the IPhone for example. Phones are very good for vlogs or casual photos but when it comes to demanding or creative scenarios they are light years behind a good camera and good glass.
