Mercedes Facing MASSIVE OVERHAUL in 2024!

Despite finishing 2023 second in the constructors championship, Mercedes are viewing their season as a failure. In reality, they have been the only consistently performing team behind Red Bull and while they haven’t ever been spectacular, Singapore aside, they have been scoring decent points for the whole season, something Aston Martin, McLaren, and Ferrari can’t claim to have done. But for a team that has had as much success as Mercedes have in recent years, anything but winning is a failure in their eyes. In today’s video, I’ll talk about what went wrong for Merc this season and how they are changing everything for next year to get back to winning ways.

For 8 years Mercedes was backed by brute force and elegant driving. Now, Red Bill is powered by aero efficiency, aggression and some snazzy driving. To 'Close the gap' Mercedes needs to strap on jet boosters to W15 or find 3 seasons worth of development in 3 months. Whatever the case may be, F1 needs some competition to keep it interesting. Wouldn't want to watch another 5 years of boring RB dominance.

No dude. They did perform better against everyone but red bull this year. The reason they scored less points than 22 is that MV took more for himself. They did worse against #1 while doing better against everyone else.

Mercedes wins because engine efficiency to fast others can't catch up, now Redbull wins because Aerodynamics to great another can't catch up, so we must just wait to 2026 change regulations same with Mercedes domination now Red Bull era Domination

I see Lewis's dad in him more and more. Yeah, the AMG power covered their aero allot. I was always shock how the regulations never really changed for all those years.

Michael Schumacher understood early on that leadership with vision was the key…he brought that to Ferrari when he left
Benetton…key engineers, and most important, Russ Brawn. When Mercedes acquired Brawn F1, they also acquired the
services of Russ Brawn who then brought in Michael Schumacher out of retirement…who then tutored engineering on
the needs of the racing car, and racing driver…that leadership has been lost…so it remains to be seen if Toto and Mercedes
can restore that energy and vision that originally built this great team. And yes, Niki Lauda too, who brought in Lewis.

Yeah, leaning on engineers is the way to anger them and make them leave not the way to get them to be better. Maybe some people should leave managing others to those who are good at it.

Sometimes you have to take a step backwards to then move forwards. I think this is the reality this year. It will be interesting to see if they can genuinely move forwards in 2024. I agree with most comments, that it will difficult to catch RBR, let alone overtake them! There has been much talk about lack of rear end stability. This indicates that they are not maximising the rear aero and specifically the floor. That would be my specific focus area.

They did not lack innovation from 2014. Ferrari had more power in 2017 and 2018. They developed the DAS system. They reason Red Bull challenged them in 2021 was the reduction in the floor area to reduce downforce for all teams. that affected Mercedes and Aston Martin, but not the high rake cars. But Mercedes raised the rear ride height with the trick rear suspension that lowers the the ride height to stall the diffuser for more top speed.
