Notes about this video:

2. I could have included things like vitamin C, niacinamide and red light masks in this video, but a). I wanted to keep this video simple b). show the products that will make a significant difference to skin and c). show the products I use. I don’t use anything else.

3. Not only is this skincare routine effective and affordable, it’s great for travelling because it’s so simple!

4. I tried castor oil as a moisturiser. It caused milia and spots within days. Also, it doesn't have a similar structure to our skin's natural oil and it's not ideal for most skin types like the oils I recommended in the video, so it didn't make the list.

My dermatologist told me 45 years ago not to wash my face in the morning, unless I’ve been sleepwalking and out rolling in the dirt.

Oh my God, I must be the exception to the rule. I am a 60 yr old woman and my skin has never been better than now.
I use like eight different products that I rotate in the different days of the week.
I double cleanse my skin at night when I wear makeup
Then a gente tóner
3 or 4 nights a week I swear by using the pomade A131, then a moisturizer
2 nights a week I use a chemical aha exfoliator
When not exfoliating I either use retinol or the A131 and Versed dark spot corrector
In the morning a gentle cleanser, murad vitamin c serum, Tula vitamin C moisturizer and a very good spf
I used to follow a simpler routine and my skin was far from beautiful as it is now
A facial once a month or every 6 weeks
Blessings to you all❤
I try to have a healthy lifestyle - I do not s oke, I rarely drink, excercise moderately, take omega 3, magnesio m, hidrolized collagen peptides

I used to buy all the latest, fanciest products for my skin, now all I use olive oil for cleansing, diluted organic apple cider vinegar as toner - my skin is better than ever, never oily, never dry. I refresh with rose water in the morning 🌹

I am _loving_ the comments so far!
It's so nice to see many viewers on the same page with regards to a simple skincare routine using natural products.
It's clear we have similar values, which I suppose is why you watch my videos, and why I like your comments 🤩 I think we'd get on in real life.

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned it already; I’ve been using vitamin A derivatives (tret, retinaldehyde, retinol) to and from for about 20 years now. What’s rarely mentioned (not sure why) is that there’s a link between retinoid use and meibomian gland dysfunction (one aspect of dry eyes). I ended up with it and I’m not sure whether my tret use was to blame, but I think it’s worth mentioning.

Yup! I never wash my face in the morning. Done it for years and I am glad I followed my instincts!
My morning routine is wash face with water and sunscreen.

I have been using La roche posay for almost a year, very faithfully. Huge results! Toleriane Cleanser for oily skin, clarifying toner, toleriane moisturizer, effaclar duo. I’m 61 but I had pathologically
Oily skin until menopause. So my skin is now normal to
Oily with a tendency to break out. This regimen keeps me clear and has evened out my skin tone nicely.

I love your content Laura but let me disagree with you on replacing moisturizers with oil/fat(emollients, which don't stop transepidermal water loss that much unlike occlusives). Moisturizers also contain humectants(glycerin, Hyaluronic acid, etc.) & occlusives( petrolatum, baby oil, etc). I think most people would benefit from having a moisturizer on hand.

I started cleansing (cream cleanser), toning and moisturising when I was 12. Never had any major skin issues. Switched to natural stuff in my 30s and messed up my skin. So went back to my old skincare and it got better. After kids my skincare went out the window. No make up, no cleansing/toning/moisturising for over 5 years. My skin isn’t terrible but I now have some seasonal break outs, is now dry and I have blackheads, I have redness and I’m seeing uneven skin tone. 2 days ago I invested in new skincare and am already starting to see an improvement. However I’m easing in and only doing a nightly routine- which is fine as I’m at home most of the day. I know you say I only need a few items but so long as you get products that work together there’s no reason not to use 8 products in your routine. Many people don’t understand the ingredients in their products or whether ingredients from one product works with another. It’s possible this is what causes a lot of skin issues.

My dermatologist told me to use extra light olive oil on the body while still damp from shower and it’s made such a difference!

Love the simplicity and minimalism! I strive for such videos. So happy to see more and more people not getting sucked into the marketing and the trendy gimmicks of todays world. It takes a mental toll on people with the ever emerging new products and throwing tons of money at it.

My routine is as simple as yours. I use a moisturiser day + night because of tret. An added step in the morning for me is vitamin c serum. And double cleansing at night to take off that rigid waterproof sunscreen that won’t budge with just cleansing once.

Keep making more such content xo

Thank you! All Ive used is Cetaphil brand which is a dermatologist brand. A soap free cleanser, a moisturiser and an SPF 50. Drink lots of water. Wear hats. That’s it. All less than $30 in total. It doesn’t need to be expensive.

I'm 61. I only use cleanser at night as well, morning is just cool water. I do use moisturizer bc I'm old and everything is drying out - lol - but my routine is a simple cleanser, moisturizer, retinol cream and sunscreen. I grew up on the beach chasing a tan until I was about 25, and then got serious about preserving my skin. I cant undo whatever damage I did those early years, but Ive never had any fillers or "treatments" and I think this very simple (but consistent) skin care has been very good for my skin to help itself over the years.

I do exactly the same! The only thing I add is vitamin C serum in the morning! No need for 9 step skin care routine! 👏

Cereve face cleanser also comes in a bar soap, eliminating the plastic bottle. Please look for it and tell your friends. I wish more products came this way. 😊

I wash sunscreen, makeup and pollution off my face at night and follow with skincare to nourish and repair my 67 year old dry skin. In the morning, at the suggestion of dermatologist Dr. Dray, I don't use water. Dr Dray says the evening skincare has long been absorbed by then. I simply apply my morning skincare routine and sunscreen. Doing this for the past 5 years has transformed my skin for the better.

I use rose water in the morning on a reusable cotton pad to clean my face. Then a face cream (I love M.Gebhart) and spf 50. I don't wear any make up. So in the evening I wash my face with a prescribed "soap" for sensitive skin and use jojoba oil and sometimes a vitaminc C cream. That is it.

I wash with cold water in the am, and add Vitamin C powder from the ordinary to a dollop of castor oil. Night time is Cerave and that’s it. I use sunscreen when I know I’ll be out for a long time, otherwise prefer to get Vitamin D on my skin directly when I can. I’m 62, and my skin is holding up pretty well!
