A Russian court has rejected Wall Street Journal's Evan Gershkovich's appeal against pre-trial detention.

Earlier on Tuesday, the US reporter appeared in a Moscow court to appeal against a decision to keep him in pre-trial detention in a former KGB prison until at least 29 May.

Meanwhile, Russia has summoned the US, British and Canadian ambassadors to protest against what it said was their "interference in Russia's internal affairs", the Interfax news agency reports

Of course they did, I don't understand why there are still people from the USA still in Russia, it's asking for trouble.

Are there really rule of law in Russia?

What was he doing 2000 km east of Moscow in Siberia? I haven't heard any explanation of that from Gershkovich or from the WSJ. If he was trying to report on an arms factory, I can see why the Russians would be upset since the US/NATO is waging a proxy war against them in Ukraine. What exactly did Gershkovich think would happen?

Evan Gershkovich can only hope his cell doesn't have any windows because Putin helps anyone who he doesn't like to jump out of them
