Thank you for sharing. At 62 I’ve been fighting for my purpose for most of those years I know it but feel trapped in my own world…. I started writing a whole explanation of how I feel. Not necessary! Just wanted to share that your story and this video broke me again even though have many times worked through it. Your straight forward story without hiding is important to all of us artistic minded individuals. We are created to be emotional beings… that’s what makes you artistic in a world that has no empathy!

Watching this, I cried and smiled along with Jake's story. It was moving and inspirational. I loved the exercise of listing 10 subjects and why. Powerful stuff. Thank you, Jake. I started the Mastery Program last month in January 2024, the best thing I've done in my life. Love and gratitude to all the Milans. You are soulful and beautiful and I am proud to call you my teachers.

My favorite thing that you guys talk about and try to drive home, is that making art is necessary to humanity and is valuable, that it is worthy of time and attention, but not only that, it is transformative to everyone who experiences the creation.

I love that Ellie and John opened their house up to art students thats my heart ❤
We used to own a non-for profit farm in Indiana before the Lord moved us to WV. We would have WOLFers come and stay with us from all over the country. We would teach them farming through aquaponics in a high tunnel greenhouse, raised beds, and traditional farming. Then, we would donate most of our food to the community pantry and for fund raisers. We learned so much from those guests, cooking of all nationalities, to website building.

Someday I want to teach kids how to paint what they feel and to listen to God while doing it...but first I need to learn how to harness & put into existence those visions God has given me to paint.

Thanks for sharing, this was great... I have some homework to do now.

May God bless your family mightly, as you are blessing others

Thank you so much, Jake. I recently got my degree in Art Therapy and experienced while showing my therapeutic art-works to my fellow students how they got touched by them and got involved into my story even without knowing anything about it. It happened just by looking at my paintings. I felt very vulnerable through this, but also experienced a lot of validation and encouragement through this process of sharing and discussing my art with other people. Therapeutic art though is meant to show the ugly sides of life to make them processable, and the feelings it transports are therefor not pleasant. I decided to not show it to anyone and keep it private. I felt that I need to find a way to communicate my story in a different, non-toxic way. I don't want people feeling bad or sorry while looking at my art! So it is so so important what Ellie did with you and the other students at Milan Art Institute to make you switch the perspective and find the strength behind your bad life-experiences. I literally cried during your workshop. It showed me what the mean thing was that I learned through my trauma. But I also got hope now and an idea of what I want to show to people through my art. This decent analysis I got through answering the questions you prompted really opened my eyes to my "superpower" and got me thinking "Wow! There is something good in my experiences that I can show to the world and even make it maybe a little bit better." I can not thank you enough, Jake

Just the fact that you all care so much about artmaking and your fellow artists impresses me greatly. And your artwork is gorgeous!

There's a lot of gold in your story. I particularly liked your description of art as a two-part process whereby the artist's telling of story through art is the means by which they form a connection with the collector of that art. Not selling your art is depriving someone of healing and relief - I love that thought! Thank you.

Oh Man, so real and vulnerable. So relatable and sweet. Thank you for being authentic. Go there. Go to the places that hurt. It’s good to be human.
And thank you for the ten things I’d like to paint and why. I loved that clarifying exploration. You have given us the gift of self knowledge and inspiration. That’s beauty in action. Love as a verb. Well done, Brother.
And, happy parenting by the way… now you’ve done it! Took a dive into the deep end! Courage and caring are the actions of the heart. May you have all the support you need to be the supporter you aspire to be.

Jake, this was so profoundly moving and from the heart. Thank you so much for sharing your personal journey, I was moved to tears when you spoke about your brother’s death and how it impacted you. I’m so sorry that happened to you. Your story resonated so deeply with me, I can’t tell you how much you’ve helped. Thank you dear one, you are a healer and so much more. God bless you and I’m excited for you, your beautiful wife, your little one to see all that’s in store for you in the future. Keep flying and don’t look down or back, keep looking forward 🥰

Hi Jake. There are a few things I really appreciate about you, and that is that you are humble, kind and real. People are drawn to authenticity and it helps us evaluate our own struggles. Thankyou for showing us the real you. Now I understand the 'finding your voice/superpower' so much better, as well as my past trauma. And you know what...I love the beautiful way you and your family (including Eli) show God's love to the world through walking in your purpose.I want to do the same. I have been listening the past few months to almost every single podcast/YouTube video on my way to my job. In 6 months I will start the Mastery Program. I am already registered and started to pay it off so by summer, when my second job ends, I finally have the time to pursue my destiny. Your videos and the podcasts are inspiring and uplifting and I commend you for putting yourself out there. Your wife is really blessed and the Milans as well, to have you in their lives. I am looking forward to learn more from you and your team. One day I would love to meet you and Eli..maybe even be on the Outstanding Artist show!😊 In the meantime, I am mentally preparing myself to give it my all when I start the Mastery Program. Tip: carry on doing what you are doing, lean on your Creator for strength and wisdom, and never stop sharing. You were made for a time like this Jake!. I am so happy I found you guys online. You are a great source of encouragement, and I feel more and more powerful everytime I listen to the content you guys put out. It really makes me happy and gives me purpose. I want to be part of it all. Again, thank you for sharing. ❤

Wow. Thanks a lot for being so vulnerable. Sharing these insights through your own personal story makes it easier to absorb them. The examples are very helpful too! Great job, well done!

Thank you Jake for your vulnerability. Many of the things you mentioned resonated with me. I’m starting with the mastery program (signed up yesterday) and I’m so excited to learn more about art, but mostly about myself. 🙏🏼
