The book is 5 kg is lifted from the floor to the top shelves which is 2m/s the floor what could be the P.E of the soon

In first example 1/2 times 8 kg times (3 m/s) squared equal 36 joules

Alot of physicist will round up the acceleration of gravity from 9.8m/s^2 to 10m/s^2 to make the equation easier to solve, especially if its an insignificant amount of change to the equation. All these nerds on here need to stfu about the 9.8!...Nice video dude.

I thought it was 313.6 J. The correct answer

Wait, the KE calculation was wrong. KE= 1/2(8kg)(3m/s)^2... So, 1/2(8kg) = 4, then (3m/s)^2 = 9.... 4x9= 36 J.

There is no kinetic energy in a moving mass there is force Mv squared kinetic energy is the energy of consistent work from a consistent force regards Graham Flowers

the KE scared me, i thought it was 1/2(8) = 4(9)= 36J, is the KE 36J?

that is wrong because I study the P.E. and K.E.
you're right on the formula but on answering you're wrong why? because the g is constant so that will be considered as 10m/squared so that should be 8kg and times to 4 and the answer to the potential energy is 40 joules
