If you're having trouble keeping your Memory Palace consistent and structurally stable, I highly advise you to try building it in Minecraft! Mine is pretty vast but I never have much trouble remembering where everything is or how it appears because I spent hundreds of hours building it block by block.

In a book called Magical Imagination, the Keys to Magic by Nick Farrell, there is a chapter called "Building your own Inner Kingdom" which is very similar to this technique. He describes creating an Arthurian castle with a large central hall with doors to rooms surrounding it. The rooms clearly correspond and are located similarlly to the Sephiroth on the Tree of Life. You create a library, a room for your queen dedicated to love, a armoury full of weapons, a treasury wjere the laws of your kingdom are kept, and treasure, a room dedicated to the Goddess and one to God. In the centre is your throne, a table and your sword. I tried it for a few weeks, but some other things arose to that took my interest elsewhere. I'll have to try this again at some point. :)

1.pick a setting
2.secure the area(wards and protective concepts
3.secure the area more (guardians)(feed the servitores)
4.create the entrance
5.exploring the rooms
6.visit regularly
7.create rooms that symbolize something that manifest into the physical world... Foolish fish had fireplace that when on helped the mind on fire and on task...

The Australian Aborigines used this locative memory method to connect encyclopedic knowledge of plants, animals, weather patterns, etc to their migrational paths through the landscape. The whole of their surrounding was their mind palace with ancestral information pinned narratively everywhere. That’s psychedelic as haell.

The fireplace as a signal of when it's time to work is such a great tip! Really gets my gears turning on what other aspects can be represented in my own interior space

This feels very similar to the daydreams and elaborate fantasies and imaginary worlds of my childhood. Again these concepts that come to us intuitively as children are often so powerful, especially when rediscovered in adulthood and seem to be very natural to human consciousness. Thank you!

Mine is heavily based on the building that used to be my local public library when I was a kid. I loved reading, I loved the smell of the books, and above all I always felt safe there. Plus the familiarity of the layout made for a very efficient system of organization and the back offices were very easily adapted to serve as living quarters for the servitor "Librarians" who are also incredibly helpful in reminding me where to find a particular memory when I'm having trouble. There was originally a book return slot but the squirrels enjoyed it so much I gave it up to them as their own personal slide and in return they tend to rather ferociously defend against any intruders. It really is a nice system, especially for someone like me who genuinely struggles with memory and recall.

I use a space that no longer exists. The Karate dojo that my teacher had until he retired. I knew every inch of that place for almost 20 years. I use it for solitude now.

Hands-On Chaos Magick also discusses astral temples, and astral bleeding. In my astral temple, I have a spa kinda room, with red lighting, I go there sometimes to recuperate. There are also many other rooms, such as a workshop to craft items, a vault to store them, a character creation room, etc. Possibilities are endless. Some doors are meant to lead to other realms, like pathworking on steroids.

The fact that nobody here is mind blown how in the ancient times these teachings would only be offered to the wealthy. Literally now it is FREE for anyone... and that doesn't hit your observation is MIND BLOWING!!!

I loved this video. For any of you that have or may know someone with ADHD . I’d like to recommend adding playing something nice to help you focus like binaural beats or brainwave entertainment videos or music with no words and a sleep mask to help block out physical surroundings from distracting you. Thanks

This is such a fascinating concept to me! I have been Maladaptive daydreaming most of my life, since I was around 14 and whenever I do they always take place in what I consider my 'future home', an ranch in the countryside of the States. I've always had most of it mapped out and I've never realised that this could be in fact some kind of my own personal Mind Palace. I'll definitely be looking into this, thank you so much Foolish Fish, keep up the goof work !

I always interviewed characters from my book in a sort-of very detailed office. Sometimes I walked out of the office to stretch my legs and realized how big this place in my mind really was. I loved walking in to new rooms and explore. This was long before I got into magick and the occult. Nice video!

Besides this being useful, it's just... fun, which I think is an aspect of the spiritual conversation that hardly ever gets attention.
Thanks for the work you're doing here!

I learned about mind palaces sometime ago in a book about improving memory. I never really thought about extending this for a magick purpose or other facets of the mind. Fascinating concept.

So in essence, it is about being intentional about compartmentalizing. The exercise itself is a meditation that disciplines the mind to create these compartments. The mind palace is an ecosystem in it's totality, meaning nothing is really separate and everything has a functional purpose that relates to everything else in both time and space. But it keeps the psyche, that seeks unity from dissolving into a miasma of undefined chaos that doesn't serve it well in a dualistic material world, which the body and ego must survive in. In simple terms, if you don't want to become a "stuffed shirt" learn that conscious compartmentalizing will keep you sane and free from delusion.

The fact that I got the Herbie reference makes me feel old.

Watching this made me realize I've been using a similar practice on an intuitive level for more years than I care to admit. You've helped me see how much more potential there is to it. Time to make it a deliberate practice.

Yes. It's a tube I float in the middle, books wrap the inner walls. It's like a huge spiral bookshelf. I am always there in one form or another the books contain all the events of my life. New ones being written at the top ever growing. And if I descend past my birth book, the past lives and more are there. I looked through the shelves, the space between the books and saw millions of other tubes with a consciousness in each one, I looked deeper and the tubes looked like threads stretching to infinity. There is much much more. Additions, Realms and interactions with enlightening beings. Ty for your insight I have met very few who also build worlds in the all.
