As a butterfly, MAGAZINE HOLDERS HAVE SAVED MY LIFE ❤️🦋

This is the one thing I abhor above all other chores! Hate paperwork so bad! Love to have things super easy to find and detailed but HATE doing it in every area of life.
It literally took me 36 hours…..maybe more to get through paperwork this summer, and even though I’ve had other big projects paperwork is the 1 that I got the most angry/frustrated when doing! Am sure mostly because I’d procrastinated so long but also because it feels like the more you work on it the bigger the pile “seems to” grow! Only a very small amount left but the organizers I have aren’t enough so over got to now move them to larger actual filing drawers instead of accordion file folders.
Thanks for letting me vent. Ugh!

Paper organizing is an issue in our household. My husband and I are both butterflies, but make several piles and so are constantly losing everything. I need a full episode of this topic! 😂

How true! I love your Clutterbug system. I’m a Cricket and too much perfectionist!

I used to have too many files. Watched Minimal Mom, thought she was extreme at first, but then thought about what I do to prep my taxes. I go through everything from the last year. Soooo, I took her advice; I have one main file for 2024 (no sub catagories, no order) in my office's file cabinet. I also have three files in a verticle holder where I watch TV. Everything in the "file later" folder goes in the 2024 yearly file when I finally declutter my living room. I'm a butterfly, so I need the other two active files in my face so I don't live with piles on the coffee table or sofa. The "consider" file and "read/miscellaneous" file get used and emptied at my convenience. It is not a perfect system yet, but the yearly catch-all file with the flat bottom is a game changer! So fewer unnecessary decisions. Yay.

This is super helpful!! What time frame do you use to select if something is long term or short term?

I'm a cricket at heart and when I have the spoons for it, but a ladybug/butterfly (?) most of the time I think.

😮wow! Every time I watch you, I LITERALLY LAUGH OUT LOUD!! It’s like watching me!! I sit & stare at piles and piles of paper. I have tried to use filing cabinets & never works!! Btw-don’t you have a past video all about organizing paper? You rock chicka 😊

I'm a little of both. Depends on the importance of what's being filed.

What if you are a Cricket retriever but a Buttlerfly / Ladybug putter-away?? This is BIG to me . . .

How do you learn what type of organizer you are?

I love to have filling cabinets, just to keep them empty, because I shove all the paper into one bin 😂

I’m still trying to figure out what I am. I have files and folders for the majority of my paper piles, but the filing doesn’t get done. I just make neat piles all over my desk and table!! How do I even get past the part of actually putting the things IN THE FOLDERS?

I use lever arch files/ring binders for my paperwork.

I organise it by category.

My husband’s a butterfly and I’m a bee. Any suggestions that would help both?

Have you calculated the percentage of kinds of clutterbug? which type is more common? Wondering too if certain types require less help therefore may be less likely to take your quiz? Do we need to do a randomized controlled trial? 😆 just really curious
