What is spiritual death?

Imputed sin brought 3 levels of death (spiritual, separation from God & physical)

The only way to cover the stench of death is to cover it with the aroma of the Gospel.

The old conception of death in the old testament was literal, physical death.

Is there any reference at all to SPIRITUAL death anywhere in the old testament? Or is this concept of spiritual death only thought up after the crusifixion?

Me, I believe that The Tree of The Knowledge of Good and Evil included Forbidden Knowledge, Knowledge That is based on Sheer Wickedness and that The Tree of Life included Acceptable Knowledge According to GOD, Just my personal beliefs.

I cannot find any scriptures that have the phrase spiritual death? Of all the people in evolved in the story that Jesus told in Luke 16:19- which ones were spirituality dead? The people he was speaking to? The rich man and those with him in hades? Lazarus, Abraham, and those with them on Abrahams's bosom? It looks to me that they were all alive spirituality? And they knew each other and remembered their past. No one dies spirituality; you will always be you in heaven or hell. You will always be a spirit you will always a soul and you will always have a body as Jesus described in Luke 16:19. The truth is in the life of the first Adam. Good to hear from you. God bless.

If you really, really believe what you just said about spiritual death, and that people are spiritually dead, ( Eph 2) then you know that a dead person can't make themselves alive. God must do it if the person is gonna be quickened. The Church should have been teaching people to "Beg" God for this wonderful salvation. And continue to Beg, and Beg, and BEG! And then WAIT ON THE LORD since we don't dictate to God concerning salvation. That's Biblical! It's God who does all the saving, and he only saves some. They're called, the "Elect." Since we have no idea who they are, maybe I too could be one of his elect. If mankind is DEAD because of sin, and they are, then it is impossible for them to accept Christ in a way that leads to salvation. They must rely 100% on God. This was never taught in the Churches.
