The beat & the lyrics of that song are in pocket on point & paints a vividly clear picture in my mind about the memories of my grandmother & other family members that have passed away. Met KRIT in NewOrleans after his House of Blues performance on his Cadillatica tour...he had 1 foot on his tour bus about to hop in & roll out but he told his security HolUp so he can meet his fans. I think Prince at 1:25:06 makes an excellent point about the dangers of going up against an intelligent, prolific storytelling emcee like Nas or Kendrick. They destroy their opps by creating an entire narrative to redefine them. Nas reduced Jay-Z's whole legacy to that of a desperate, pathetic, dick riding, social climbing stan with no real identity of his own as an emcee--and he did it by giving receipts wrapped up in vicious punchlines.

Quiet as it's kept, Pusha T did the same thing in Story of Adidon, completely rebranded Drake as a fraud, and hit at his deepest insecurities (his racial identity, sense of belonging). He did it so cleverly too, laying the foundation with the blackface single cover, then the "Story of OJ" sample with that Nina Simone loop, only to finish him off with those diabolical punch lines.

Drake needs to be very careful if he's going to go after Kendrick, because he can't survive another blow like that.
