I play MH since MH2, and the absolutely best tip i could give is observe calmly always before you attack a monster. Happy hunting everyone and welcome to the family

I've played nearly every single MH game. No idea why I'm watching this lol. My advice would be to always try to capture monsters and break everything you can on the monster. Capturing saves time and gives you more (and better) rewards. Bring shock/pitfall traps and at least 2 tranq bombs.

As I am new to the MH series... I played all 3 betas & thought for sure I was just going to stick with the Bow... boy was I wrong.... watching Arekkz manhandle the Charge Blade sooo made me want to use it & I'm glad I did.... Charge Blade FTW!

Did you guys know you can also mount a monster with a hammer? All you have to do is while charging your Hammer with right trigger slide down a hill towards a monster. Once your close enough release for a devastating airial spinning pinwheel attack. Land the final blow to activate the button prompts. Eveyone will think your a god.

I would defs tell people that if you need a rare drop from a mon capture it. Capturing a monster gives higher rewards and better chances at the rare plate or gem.

I went from the Insect Glaive all game and am now playing Charge Blade in high rank, and I gotta say they’re both my favorite.

Finally my time to lay down the knowledge. So with my time since the first game and now getting my hands on this game. A tip that I have make sure you grab the box gear at the start of a hunt they don't show for expoditions. Have tuns of potions stoked up. Affter every quest go to one of the boxes spread around astera and drops some items you pick up in the field off. Now for gunners and bow users the gunners heavy and light take your time to look on the filed for mushrooms and bugs because they act as your amunition. The bow Hunter is the same but make sure you have philes on hand they help because that's what you need to craft look for mushrooms and bugs again they are you amunition. And finally something they don't tell ya captureing a monster give more of their parts so do that if you see them limping cap them it takes 1 shock or pit fall trap and Two tranq bombs. Also also while on the topic of caping just remember ELDER DRAGONS CANT BE CAPED I will repeat my self to make my point UNLESS CHANGED IN THIS GAME ELDER DRAGONS CANT BE CAPED. And with that if your scout flies go blue and your new run it's an elder dragon you can't fight it hell I can't where I am right now. well good luck my hunters and I hope my tips will be helpful good luck I'll see you in the hunt. PS my psn is Finagin5 so hope to see you in the hunt.

I jumped straight to the charge blade for no reason... looked cool so i grab it LOL. It was hard to understand even in the tutorial, but once you get the handle of it, charge blade is a killer. This game is a master piece... cant wait to go back from work and play it!!

It should also be noted that the camps out in the wilds have canteens in them. So if you faint (or just spend enough time out there that the meal wears off) you can get a new one at the camp canteen.

The best advice I’ve gotten, especially for hunting solo is learning when to roll. If you roll too often your burn your stamina and if you don’t know when to time it you’ll take chunks of damage. It’s a thing of timing but when you become comfortable with learning to evade the game gets a lot easier

No it's fun . I m brand spanking new but I know there's always a learning curve with games like this. Not as smooth as destiny once moves are set in motion, no jump attack but I haven't tried all the weapons yet . Actually I m lost .

Tip keep your health above 75% for late game, buy those charms in the shop, and at least carry armor skin. Dual Swords stop exhausting your stamina. Pick up the sling ammo(crystal shot is my fav) that drops, it stuns monsters for a sec or gets them to target you. Late game, if you faint and come back with your base stats you are a 1 hit ko burden max your stats before returning to battle. CAPTURING IS EASIER, especially if your struggling. So many times, I've been running to cap a weakened, but raging monster and someone dies, when they could have capped it themselves.(Prioritize shock traps first Ivy isn't farmable)

Very helpful video for a newbie to MH. And many of the comments were useful as well.

You can go inside the tent as well during an expedition and can switch out your weapons/restock/drop off your supplies so you can stay in expedition for as long as you want. Idk if you can do this as well on a normal mission though.
