Don't forget to not take anything too seriously. Happy listening!

Some great Quotes from the works of Alan Watts:

"The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

To have faith is to trust yourself to the water. When you swim you don't grab hold of the water, because if you do you will sink and drown. Instead you relax, and float.

You don't look out there for God, something in the sky, you look in you

We cannot be more sensitive to pleasure without being more sensitive to pain.

Never pretend to a love which you do not actually feel, for love is not ours to command.

I owe my solitude to other people.

The ego is nothing other than the focus of conscious attention.

No work or love will flourish out of guilt, fear, or hollowness of heart, just as no valid plans for the future can be made by those who have no capacity for living now.

You are that vast thing that you see far, far off with great telescopes.

Trying to define yourself is like trying to bite your own teeth

You and I are all as much continuous with the physical universe as a wave is continuous with the ocean.

And the truly mind-blowing thing about Alan's teaching, is when we listen to him we are not really learning. It's already in us. We have just forgotten. We can't help but resonate.

R.I.P. Alan Watts, most of the world will never know how dearly you were needed and how much you still resonate with those wise enough to cherish your wisdom.😢

I had a life changing experience not so long ago, and the way I looked at the world changed completely. Not just my values and ideals, but literally the way it looked is different. It's tough to convey to others, but it's somewhere between seeing the world through a third person perspective, and seeing my life as an infinite series of slides.

I can't pretend things matter anymore. I can't go back to the way I used to be. I feel shell shocked, looking around at the world, with the veil lifted for the first time. I grapple with the idea that maybe I have had a psychotic break, that maybe I'm crazy or delusional, but I feel lucid, reasonable. It's as though I was navigating life as a maze, and suddenly I've been lifted over the walls, and can see the whole thing from above. It makes exploring the maze seem psychotic. It makes looking for purpose, happiness within the maze seem silly.

In any sense, Alan Watts helps me feel comfortable with this revelation. Maybe the world looks very different to me, now, but that's okay. Throughout my life I will have many understandings of the world around me, some more useful, some less. Either way, peace, compassion, and thoughtfulness are admirable principles, and to work towards a better understanding of my own mind is a worthwhile quest. Thanks to Watts and the community.

'This is where we are at right now, as a whole. No one is left out of the loop. We are experiencing a reality based on a thin veneer of lies and illusions. A world where greed is our God and wisdom is sin, where division is key and unity is fantasy, where the ego-driven cleverness of the mind is praised, rather than the intelligence of the heart.'
Bill Hicks.

Alan Watts brings to us timeless wisdom. He speaks to the essense of our humanity and helps to ground us in a sense of fellowship, not only toward one another but also for our planet, Mother Earth. Thank you so much for presenting these videos. I am grateful ❤.

The bell ringing being conscious because of the reaction, showing the intelligence within it, just open my mind to a deeper understanding of Life than I had before I heard that. It made Perfect sense

AW and his wisdom delivered me from destructive Christian fundamentalism...im 65 yo now, born and raised and still live in southeast Mississippi...the "fundies" here are so hostile towards one another and the world, i simply couldnt take another minute of it...but i didnt want to throw the baby out with the bathwater...now, I'm much more at peace and truly find it liberating...thank you AW.

I love how he puts it.
The most fascinating *problem* is "Who am I?"
Because there's no concrete solution or answer to it so we keep debating it throughout human history.

I myself, can’t stop listening to him. Each time I hear something different, not confused but the underlying get more interesting. I really love this lecture, it is something that I am feeling when I’m praying, I am a Hindu, and I always used the three Power of Vishnu, Baran, Shiva.
