If your priority is money, why even go and listen to what other teams have to say? To me it seems weird to arrange this kind of tour around US and after that just come back and say "yeah, I am staying, i want the money". Why waste the time of so many people? Generally speaking, that whole concept where teams must beg a player to sign for them looks very foolish and child-like to me. It's almost like players are the gods and everyone in every organization must bow their heads to them, it just seems wrong. Also,  the teams are being coerced into giving those 5 year deals to players who will start to decline in a year or two and will not be worth even half of that money, because they know that if they will not, other teams will do it. It just seems that the league gives way too much leverage to the players.

UPDATE: According to ESPN's Ramona Shelburne, Carmelo Anthony's agent says he "hasn't made a decision yet" on Lakers or Knicks.

The knick aren't winning a chip anytime soon. Melo is going to become another HOF that never won a ring.

Only 2 players in the last 25 years have won a NBA title with just role players. They are, hakeem, and dirk. well you could as count the piston04 since it was a "non superstar team"
P.S I grow soo tired of hear about Kobe in the same breath as MJ. Everyone seems to forget that those 3LA titles and  4times at the finals in a row, it was SHAQ who was the best player on the court/NBA.  Kobe has only 2 as the alpha. 
Kobe is jerry west 2.0 not MJ.

I don't understand this argument people are making about how he should "take the money." If this was the first couple years of his career then yes I would agree. But at this point he is a millionaire many times over. There are people who get $30 million from winning the lottery, retire, and live a great life. Melo probably has at least double that amount of money at this point so what's a few million dollars more, especially when he knows he will be making 8 figures for the next 5 years regardless of where he plays? There is no word for that other than greed and anyone who disagrees has a warped perception of reality.

Was really hoping he'd sign with Chicago, but if Phil Jackson can somehow turn the knicks around ill be glad to see that as well. I just wanna see some good teams in the East, shit is barren right now.
