I am glad his lead engineers didn't give up in arguing with Elon that they need the $25K normal cars for people no matter what while working on CyberTaxi. That is just a no-brainer. If people understand just how much cheaper a car like that will be to not only purchase, but to run and maintain vs gas, it will be really significant, and so much so, that a massive shift should happen, even in America. At that point, they need to market these things so all Americans understand the difference in costs

Obviously many here haven't been following the progression of Tesla's FSD. It's not a matter of if but WHEN will it surpasses human capacity.

It's widely believed that at some point AI will be smarter than humans. Whether that takes 5 or 10 years, you really don't think cars will be able to drive themselves at that point?

Human error is the cause of most car accidents and 40, 000 people die each year in the US. Not only will robotaxis be better drivers than humans at some point, but because they will all communicate with each other over 6G in real time, it will be highly unlikely they will ever crash.

Tesla needs a $25k car to keep sales from tanking while they iron out level 5 autonomous vehicles. Even the most optimistic outlook is still a year out, but most likely 2. I suppose they could withstand it, but tanking sales would really hurt the faith and funding the company needs to make incredibly high risk investments like RoboTaxi and Optimus.

The cyber cab should have some futureistic spacex developed seat covering materials, we can finally drink and drive at five!. Level 4 we are no longer in control of vehiclar travel on roads. At 10:30 Level 3 image should should have intervener facing forward.with nobody in back seat. Level 2 would be Autopilot Advanced Autopilot, and Full Self Drive training, i think.

As far as getting FSB12 fully functional. It's a well known law of software development. The first 90% of the project takes 90% of the time. The last 10% takes the other 90% of the time.

I have a Model Y and benefited from the 30-day free FSD trial a month ago. I can say that while very impressive, it is still not ready for full implementation. I really don’t the Fed government allowing this en masse. Ten years from now? Maybe. 2025? Nope.

the concept is fine, my main concern is an unauthorized remote takeover, or some other kind of undesirable outcome. maybe there could be an "emergency eject" button that triggers a system override to safely pull the car over on the side of the road and allow the rider to get out
