Hey bro!! Before you try any major modification, chuck some small pulleys with little bearings in them on the 2 bolts that you wrap the cord around at 9:25, those screws will be creating so much resistance, and I wouldn't be surprised if chucking a tiny bearing lined pulley in there on each would fix this!!

This project is extremely hard, but that's what makes the vids so interesting! I barely have 5% of your maker skills, I'll never be able to even come close to this level of complexity, but I've watched every video with great interest and even learned a couple tricks. Don't give up, it's a good one!
(Plus remember - the vids are used to document the process, so from this point of view, the more process - the better! :)
