Father credits 12-year-old son for saving his life during a bear attack

Statistically, this needs to not be categorized as a standard bear attack data point. This was a wounded juvenile bear that was likely protecting itself from being further injured.

I have soooo many issues with this. A 200 lb bear is not a big bear. The boy took a bad shot from the beginning, wounding the poor thing. The dad saying he shot that many times and still couldn't make contact. These 2 might need to be banned from hunting period until they both take hunter safety courses. That could have easily been another human the little boy shot.

first off they wounded the bear, then were trailing it. if they hadn't of wounded it the bear would not have attacked. the bear was hurt then they walked up to it. if you are cornered you would fight for your life also.

When you live in an area like this it is Important to know how to Hunt and use a Variety amount of weapons. not only for sport but for protection against these types of things. This kid is probably more skilled then most of us and that's what save his dad. Great Job dad on training him to be a survivor and Great job kid on Handling your Business. ❤❤🤘🤘

So they went out hunting bear then they became the prey and the kid is called a hero for saving his dad who started all this drama by going hunting in the 1 st place . I feel sorry for the bear, humans went into its home starting shyt it has a right to eat who ever starting shyt with him😂. The boy did protect his father which is great, but the boy also missed in the first place only wounding the Bear which led to them chasing down the Bear and the Bear "retaliating" not attacking the father, this story makes it sound like the Bear attacked out of the blue...the Bear was actually the innocent one in the story. I'm for hunting for meat, hunting for trophy's is another story...

I don't have a problem with hunting for food or culling animals that are a problem but trophy hunting I find repulsive.
