For people with eco boost models (mines 2016) you can actually stick your finger through the grilled, feel for the tabs and break em that way

You cannot use this method with a 2022 Mustang GT. Even with removing the hood latch you still can’t access behind the grill.

Did this without having to take off the radiator cover. Just put your fingers in between the grille and snap off the old emblem. Use 3M double-sided tape(or something similar) for the retainer nuts by putting your finger on the new emblem plastic and snap in place. It's way easier than removing the bumper, shutters, and hood latch.

I purchased these for my mustang 2018 gt, but the 2018 grill access is different from 15-17! Can you please do a tutorial for the 2018! Installation

for me I'm super picky with my car, I notice even the smallest problems and errors.
While it probably would be cheaper getting a $7 can of black spray paint, $7 can of clear coat and $5 worth of sand paper. I know unless I really took my time and did a perfect job, everytime I looked at the front end I'd see and notice any mistake I made.

For $65 in other words what? a tank of gas? I can get an OEM emblem that is finished perfectly and install it myself relatively easily. And I would never have any problems with it.

Then debadge the sides and rear and you're looking sweet.

Probably should have watched this vid before I pryed my chrome pony off with a screwdriver. Might explain why it didn't go back on properly.
I sanded mine down and painted it flat black but then I had to use a gasket sealant to reseat the alignment pins. On the plus side, it did move around a little before hand but now it's rock solid.

Plasti dip it. It's $6 and you can peel it off and I've had mine Plasti dipped for half a year and it still looks good

Does this work the same for the gt California special 16’? Because I don’t really like my emblem being on the side of the grill

On my 2019 I just used a pic and popped the horse out from the front. I literally took like 20 seconds to get off and didnt even break any of the alignment pins.

Your tutorial was made several years ago and only mentions 2015 or 2016 - is it the same for 2021?

How did you remove it? Or at least get the tabs on the back of it off. Having a problem with that part

If you can buy a new black pony badge that just sticks on with double stick, do it. This an absolute nightmare to attempt. As easy as the tabs break off the old badge, they break off the new one too. The retaining nuts do not just push on, even using a 6mm deep socket. And for the love of god, don’t remove your hood latch. Reach down behind it. The edit in this video doesn’t show the hour you’ll spend trying to to readjust your latch position to get the hood to close.
