In regards to the one where the girl used a fake skeleton as a prank, someone once said, "When a person tells you that you hurt them, you don't get to decide that you didn't."

My friend was a photographer and was actually in a similar situation to the last story. She went around taking fun pictures of the guests when the Bridal party was away and was suddenly blindsided with an engagement.

The engaged party tried to get my friend to send them their engagement photos directly. She said that she was under contract and could not do that. She then told the bride what happened.

The bride apparently was a petty person, so she hatched an evil plan with the photographer. When she released the photos, she omitted the engagement photos... which ended up forcing the engaged party to ask directly about them. The bride shrugged and said she paid the photographer to shoot her wedding, so she only got pictures of her wedding. She didn't recall having an engagement as part of her wedding.

So they had to grudgingly call my friend who gave them her rate sheet, her last minute booking fees, a rush charge, and like a dozen other bullshit charges. They threatened to leave a bad review. She threatened to delete the engagement pictures forever.

The bride in the end got a nice large discount since my friend ended up getting paid double for 1 night's work.

We keep talking about red flags, but the guy breaking up with his family over the skeleton "joke" is the greenest of green flags. Kudos to him for standing up for his partner.

For the last story, I would've pretended the photos didn't exist unless the bridesmaid finally brought it up, forced her to admit and explain why she did what she did and then charge her for the photos. I'd then give the money to the photographer so she'd be compensated for her extra work.

We were told we could never have children. At my best friend's wedding I was 13wks and told no one. It's her day. She would have been super excited for me but I just wanted to be super excited for her along with everyone else celebrating her day.... My news could wait.

I hate when phrases like "keep the peace" or "be the bigger person" are used *towards* someone who's been wronged. To me, in that situation, I just hear those phrases as "take someone's crap and be happy about it".

The sister who brought out a skeleton knew exactly what she was doing, it wasn’t a “joke”. It was done in malice. He’s right to cut ties with her, and anyone in the family who’s standing up for her behavior. That’s beyond repulsive. He sounds like a lovely caring person, and I’m glad he has his fiancés back. I hope they have a very happy life together. 💛

For the sister and skeleton story…if you have to give into this then it’s not worth to “keep the peace” that “peace” doesn’t exist, it’s just an excuse that horrible people use to not deal with the consequences of their own actions and that “peace” will just be abuse and cruelty and not actual peace, calm or friendship in any way

The whole “let it go” with the sister situation is bizarre. First…I’m questioning how anyone could think the skeleton would ever be funny, but if the groom’s family down to the aunts and uncles are boycotting the wedding I am also questioning that there is something very wrong with the entire family dynamic.

That last one. I would've shown my friend all the pics except hers, feigned ignorance, let her dig her own grave. Then given the photographer permission to SELL the friend her pictures, spilt the money. She not only went behind bride's back, but expected the bride to foot the bill for her engagement pics just because it was technically the same shoot!!

My sister was the “it was just a joke” kind growing up. But the difference was, my parents never let her get away with stuff like that, much less DEFEND HER! Now, as an adult, she is one of the most caring, empathetic, generous people I know. It’s almost like holding people accountable for their actions teaches them to be BETTER PEOPLE!!

The Bride should ask the photographer how much she would charge for engagement pictures, and then charge her "friend" that much for the envelope (or don't release them with her wedding album, and refer her "friend" to the photographer who can then charge her for her engagement photographs) (and then only maybe include one picture from the bunch that was least like anengagement picture and include it in her with her wedding album).

The skeleton story really got to me. My sister died unexpectedly a few years ago and while I love dark humor and dead family jokes (half my family is dead including my parents and I’m only 30) this was in such poor taste I actually teared up. I can’t imagine being the fiancé in the situation.

My eyes were trying to pop out of my head at the dead sister skeleton “joke”! SHE WON’T EVEN APOLOGIZE!! She’s probably the baby of the family, and her parents would defend her even if she straight up murdered someone. Also, I’d contact those other family members refusing to not come, I get the feeling the parents told a different story to the extended family on what really happened. What a horrible human being, who need enemies with a sister like that?

The story with the dead sibling. Not only is the sis and entitled A-hole, but you can understand why she's that way by how the rest of her family is enabling her by not calling her out or seeing how wrong what she did was. What the sister did was not only rude and wrong, but malicious and cruel.

My daughter and I were discussing the last one, and she suggested that the bride should go through the engagement folder and pick out all the worst photos - bad expressions, eyes closed etc - and present those to the engaged couple. I'm a little scared of my daughter now. :D
