What is the complement of the complement of a set? In today's set theory lesson we'll discuss double complements with respect to "absolute complements - being complements taken with respect to a universal set as opposed to relative complements.

When we consider a universal set, every other set we discuss is a subset of the universal set, which has a big impact on how double complements work. We'll take a look at examples and a Venn diagram!

I hope you find this video helpful, and be sure to ask any questions down in the comments!

thank you so much! in all honestly, ive been searching for the double complement but only found yours. i'm a mother of a 14 year old grade 7 diagnosed with mild autism, who is now in regular school (face to face). it's kind of hard to practice again after decades ago hahaha so i am trying to refresh my brains with all these topics in math. its in his HW question and yet i couldn't find an explanation in the book, as well as on his notes. there's only "single complement". thanks again. you're the best!
