The composed music for the song is catchy, but the lyrics and context behind it are gross. Now, all of a sudden, stealing another person away from their family is considered empowering?? Ok, Ariana.
I’m so tired of her now, she’s very delusional. But she’s self aware enough to acknowledge what’s going on and deflect. For example, in the music video, there are people complaining about Ariana and then the song kicks in, meaning that Ariana is staying away from her biggest critics. Through her song, She’s basically complaining about how people nit pick everything she does, from her ponytail, height, etc. but those things are superficial and redundant. What people are rightfully criticizing her for is her home wrecking habit which has been going on for over ten years. Even middle schoolers and high schoolers have better romantic relationships than she does and are more faithful to their partners, but she has never grown out of this immature teenage girl mentality. Enough is enough.

This friggin song could have been slipped seamlessly into any top 40 pop music radio playlist from the early 80s to today and nobody would raise an eyebrow.
