Skibidi toilet is more than simply a commentary on the nature of war and how it escalates, it's also a metaphor for how we as passive viewers contribute to the escalating violence. The nature of the Skibidi toilets and their song stands as a metaphor for media and how it grows and is shared in today's culture. Those who appreciate it simply end up sharing more of it, in the hopes of spreading their love for the song they enjoy so much; but the Cameramen, witnesses to the media themselves, are not so happy. They fight against the growing trend but in doing so only engage with the media they so revile. In today's modern media landscape negative engagement is no different from positive engagement, so no matter how many toilets they flush the toilets simply return in bigger, bolder, more successful formats; singing their song and spreading it further out to the masses. This becomes the escalation that's so needed. The TVmen and Speakermen are the solution, not watchers, not performers, but distributors they are able to effectively eliminate and confront the offending Skibidi toilets but offering new content to overcome their adversaries. The only thing able to destroy a popular piece of media is to distract attention away from it entirely. Ending engagement, good or bad, ends the threat, but only if there's something more worth engaging with.

It's a pretty fascinating meditation on the nature of media, pop culture, and consumption. I hope the geniuses behind the project can continue to explore their artforms and when they're ready move on to even more ambitious projects. Perhaps more fat men jiggling their bellies while consuming large piles of meat? It's not for me to postulate nor suggest, I can't lie that I do see promise in that concept.
