Someone gave a good point about the House of the hearth being an info gathering arm of the Fatui, so the Traveler going all out would have shown the Fatui what kind of threat they are facing if they went all out. Though what if the Traveler is in a Superman situation, constantly needing to hold back as not to cause unnecessary damage or harm. Which is why we see them go ape against god-like enemies like Beisht and Scaramouche, but are practically above the average "strong" fighter at any other time. I mean let's take into an account that they've been using a dull sword their entire journey and so far have in lore been pulling W's.

1E: Got easy defeated by a fatui agent like really easily
2E: Got no diffed by a newly resurrected god and really didn't hep against Azhdaha
3E: He no/diffed by Raiden then somehow beat her because of "ambitions" (otherwise would've died)
4E: Got neg diffed by Scaramouche god (only won because of nahida saving our butt)
5E: He was able to fight against the glutton narwhal but didn't really do much from what I know, helped solve the primordial sea but didn't directly get rid of it. Got no diffed by Arlechinno who barely tried.
6E: Nothing
7E: Nothing
Light: Got destroyed by Asmoday without even trying

I’m in a love hate relationship that they have Peruere stronger than traveler in current lore. Because this either means Peruere should actually be ranked higher and she rivals the archon’s powers, or that all the harbingers from 4-1 are stronger than people say they are.

Aether canonically if we're talking about Traveler Aether, is only strong enough to beat Childe, the rest of the Harbinger's/Archons were only killed after help (Ex. Shogun killed Signora, not our kill, Miko helped us by making ambitions help us become stronger against Ei, not our complete kill, Nahida helped us against Scara and Neuvi and Skirk helped us with the Whale.) so in conclusion, it's Arle's win neg difference
