My family has a very strong hereditary double chin. I did a micro liposuction procedure with thermi tight which cost me $4000 and added twilight sedation for a total of $4500. It was totally worth every penny. I have lost a lot of weight since the procedure as well, but spending all the money on the fat removal motivated me to keep it off. Thank you for your videos Dr Linkov!

I am dangerously infatuated with cosmetic surgery. Luckily, my budget isn't very flexible right now. You are teaching me so much about safety, and the real risks and considerations that need to be made prior to a procedure. I would have made very poor decisions if not for your videos. Thank you!

Hi, I got 1 full treatment of Kybella in 2020. I lost all feeling/sensation underneath my chin ever since. I also feel like the tissue under my chin has permanent damage you can see from the outside. My case is not severe whatsoever, but just wanted to put this out there - if you get Kybella from a professional and there is nerve and tissue damage, nothing can be done to fix this. Apparently, the Kybella reps were contacted and they said that I was the only person to ever have this issue. That is all that happened. Just wondering if anyone else out there has too. I feel like getting one dose of Kybella also changed the entire structure of my lower face/jaw/and definitely my chin. I don't recommend it!

Didn’t realize this topic would be so complex. Thanks for covering it so thoroughly in a way that was easy to understand. Love your channel

This is an extremely thorough and informative video. I’d like to add my personal experience which may help viewers. I always had what I believe to be genetic fullness to the submental region. I underwent submental lipo with good but not definitive results. After studying facial aesthetics, I recognized an additional component was a slightly retrognathic chin. When I explored this more I realized that actually I have a tongue tie, which has caused incorrect tongue positioning for my entire life, which can contribute to suboptimal development of the mandible and weakened muscle tone in the neck. After myofunctional exercises of the tongue, I noticed tightening in the soft tissue of the area which has enhanced my jawline contour. Between this and my procedure, I have finally realized the results that I’ve been seeking. In fact, incorrect tongue positioning explains many things I experienced in general including snoring which has significantly improved. Tongue tie is very common and worth considering. Cheers to all

I had Kybella done under my chin about 10 yrs ago and still looks good. I was in my fifties and am pleased with the results. My dermatalogist said I was a good candidate for it. I went conservative on the dosage and it can get costly. It was about a $1000.00 for the procedure. Sometimes less is best, don't let them talk you to get more after you heal. I swelled for about a week, hard to swallow and some pain. But not as bad as having your tonsils removed. The results are permanent and it got rid of my turkey neck. Think this is genetic bcuz my mom had it too. I've never had anything else done except I use retinal, vitamin c on my skin and wear a sunscreen if out in the sun. I also take collagen peptides in my tea or with water and I take hyaluronic acid, 2 capusules. Most of all lots of water. I must say I have no wrinkles and am close to 70. Take care of your skin as you age is the key.

I lost 40 lb. after I took up daily walking for my health and I was surprised how very old my neck looked (age 62). I decided to gain back 15 lbs. and it looks so much better now.

I’ve actually had neck rolls ever since I was young, it makes me feel so insecure when showing my neck and I’ve always wanted to get rid of it. I loved how in-depth this video was, it was very informative as well.

I had a submental liposuction about 10 years ago and was happy with the result. I had a double chin my whole life, regardless of how much weight I lost, so I opted to go that route.

My facial structure is much like the late Penny Marshall. In my youth I thought a nose job would fix it but then realised that it's more the chin. I tried training myself to stick my chin out then I just look stubborn. Now that I'm old it seems kind of pointless. I once had one of my kids in ICU, and a teenage girl in the next bed who had gone in for some kind of routine surgery on her jaw, had a clot or something, and was being disconnected from her life support. That kind of put me off for life. If people think I'm ugly that's their problem- I can still spread Love and Kindness no matter what I look like :)

Dr. Linkov does an excellent job of sharing very precise information on a variety of topics. But am I the only one here who turns to his channel for use as an ASMR option? I find his gentle voice so incredibly relaxing that If I’m stressed or having trouble sleeping within a few minutes I am feeling calm & totally at peace & often drift off completely. Thank you Dr. Linkov for sharing your medical expertise. (And btw you’re also very handsome!)

My mother bestowed upon me a high metabolism and predisposition towards being skinny, which is great! But she also passed on a girthy subplatysmal fat deposit. So it doesn't matter if I'm pregnant and weigh 150, or if I'm down to 115, I still have a big double chin. Even when I barely weighed 100 pounds in high school, I had a double chin. My BMI classified me as underweight, and I still had a double chin. I hate it. So of course it's only correctable with surgery, and it's the most expensive of the surgical procedures. Fml.

I think Verteporfin will be a gamechanger for scarless plastic surgery. Researchers at the Stanford Longaker Lab have shown injection of verteporfin at the incision site prevents scar tissue formation in both mice and pig skin. Dr. Linkov, this could be a cool video topic to talk about both the findings of the research and how it could potentially affect your own procedures in your practice (face lifts, hairline lowering, lip lifts, etc.) if they could be done without a scar.

Gosh I'm tired studying for midterms and 1:55 really freaked me out 😂 thank you for giving me a more realistic view of both the beauty of the natural body and the results of many procedures that social media can romanticize

I really enjoy how in depth you go when explaining procedures and treatments of specific areas. As a visual learner, it’s also really helpful that you use videos, pictures and diagrams, etc. Bravo! 👏 👏👏

Orthodontist here. I'm curious to hear your perspective on the pros and cons of genioplasty for chin implants. I had oral surgeons in residency tell me that genioplasty is their preferred treatment, as there are less complications. But I'd like to hear your perspective, especially when it comes to the esthetics. I've seen a few genioplasties make the chin look too large for the patient's face.

i’ve been made fun of for having a lot of fat under my chin even at my lowest weight… i’ve told myself it’ll go away with age but the older I get the more I want to get work done on it. I think at one point I counted that I could get up to 5 different rolls so i’m beyond double chin territory. interesting video!!

I’m quite petite but had a prominent hereditary submental fat pad combined with little chin projection, giving me a strong double chin. This was my biggest insecurity and dominated my self perception. In 2020, at the age of 26, I got a chin implant, submental liposuction, and a platysmaplasty, all as an outpatient procedure with no sedation (but of course fully numbed). It was a bizarre experience but by far one of the best things I ever did for myself and I would do it all over again 100x!
